We are in night riding season. I need an upgrade. Lights keep getting better. What are your favorites? Here are some pics of this weeks rides.

Been night riding for many many years now, simply the more money you can spend on a quality brand/light the better. The likes of exposure/fourth/lumicycle are well worth investing you money in, as the build quality is 2nd to none and the output is not only bright but the reflectors make the output really usable.
Off-hand I'm currently run a couple of chinese lights now, as you can get a reasonable amount of light for not a lot of money too, but they can be awful too, with them lying about stupidly high lumen counts and having very spotty outputs, [edit] and dangerous batteries/chargers. Specifically I run a Solarstorm twin XML unit on my helmet and a XP70 on my bars, but that because I like chopping and changing as new lights come out. The new LED tech has admittely slowed lately, as LED technology has seemingly peaked and isn't advancing as fast as it once was.
I can recommend the likes of Mark at MTB-batteries, he doesn't just resell cheap chinese lights, the unit he imports are thoroughly tested and his support is second to none.
Halford's bikehut 1600 all-in-one unit is also well worth looking at, especially if you buy when discounted or using a BC card.

I was given a CDC Nestling light a few weeks ago. 8000mAh ( advertised as 6400mAh??) battery pack is completely sealed. 5000 Lumens. Beware of the solar storm lights being sold on ebay as Nestling. Pack is not water proof and only 2400 lumens. £ 20.99 on Amazon. Amazon search: cdc 5000 lumen 2x cree xml u2 led

Exposure Six Pack on the Bar, amazing light and flat out is to bright but in the lower modes gives an excellent burn time. On the lid I have a Exposure Diablo with a 3.4A support cell mounted to the back of the helmet, a great little light and with the Cell I have more than enough burn time. The Diablo has something called Tap, so to cycle though the 3 modes you just give it a little wack :)

That Six Pack looks ridiculous. Seems like the foliage might burst into flames on the high setting.

In addition to the Lupine on the bars, I use a CygnaLite Metro 1100 on my helmet... On my Stumpjumper I use an older, but awesome, Serfas True 1500+. The 2500 Lumen Serfas is still available at a significant discount on amazon. It's a GREAT light.

They might do, but at £20.99 you’ll probably pay more for shipping I’d imagine hahaha. Likewise, we get stung for import duties from the States, but fortunately my sister lives in Phoenix ?.

Do you notice a decrease in motor power or battery life with the hardwired light?
Hi,I also run th lupine light hard wired to my Yamaha powered Haibike,it draws less than 2amps and runs on 6v (on my bike) the current is varied depending on what bike it’s on,the f model comes with a high/low beam and daytime running lights, personally I don’t see any notable battery drop.

Riding a Lupine SL, 1300 lumen bike headlight hardwired to the Bosch battery. Additional to that a Lupine Pico 4 helmet lamp. Good lite companions on the trail.

I've got a Halfrauds one. 1600 lumens (not sure if that a lot), it was about 40 quid, seems pretty good.

Remember regular car headlight are what, 1000 - 1300 lumens at full tilt. 1600 is quite good for that money.

Sure, you can go full nuclear reactor and invest in insanely powerful lights. Obviously not a small reactor, but a large/heavy battery pack. :)

I‘m riding with Magicshine lights, a MJ 906B on the bar (3200lm), and a MJ 902B on the helmet (1600lm). The latest bluetooth models support user defined modes, e.g. you can setup a 1% mode, for slow climbs on easy terrain or remove the annoying fashing mode. The remote is very handy for the lamp on the helmet.
