Replaced my Cube Hardtail with a full suspension Scott Strike 920. A more relaxed riding position for eating up the miles.

Is this the 750wh battery ?.
No this is the 625, I looked at the 750 on the Scott Patriot and cube but don't like the idea of the battery dropping down, I worry thay one day a hard drop might result in the battery dropping out. The range in the 625 is quite good to be fair and suits me fine

I hadnt realized that about the battery placing and that it slides out from below.
And tbh it isnt the type of area on the bike i think we should be weakening. I'd prefer to see a full tube down there, welded al the way around. But only time will tell on that score.
On it i do like the idea of placing the shock well out of harms way and protecting it from mud ingress.

But enough of the one you didnt buy
Is there much difference between the strike and the genius ?, I've got the genius 920, or is it just down to the componentry.
I initially for my pottering/shopping needs looked at the Axis eride, but it was all shitty componentry, and the money was in the rack, mudguards and lighting system, but if you compare the actual frame itself and the geometry, the axis eride and the genius share the same frame. So any signs that the strike is the same frame also ? Comparing it to the genius and the axis it looks identical.

I've also found them to be very comfy to ride on, I'd even go so far to say the Scott is about the best bike I have ever owned, and thats well over 20 bikes.

The Strike had slightly different geometry which has a more sit up style of riding which suits me, (very very subtle though) as I am more into cruising in forests and over the moors than pelvis smashing trails, (still managed to break 2 ribs in December though at 13 mph on a forest road, pedal strike in a rut, and flip I went, acted like a 5 year old for several minutes) anyway I find with the strike more comfortable miles on hands wrists and shoulders than my previous cube ebike, plus I perso ally like the twin lock and ability to adjust dropper seat when going downhill or stopping

Im possibly interpenetrating this wrong, but they look like they share the same geometry.
It wont copy/paste the L/XL, but from the site those are the same too.
This is kind of where I took my reason not to buy the touring axis and opted for the AM genius instead. I hoe I havent fk that up by reading
it wrongly

It looks like the salesman has told me some drivel then, the diffencr seems to come from the suspension 160mm Front Travel and 150mm Rear Travel on the genus and 140 front and rear for the strike as well as a higher handlebar.
My lesson learnt is never listen too much to the blurb of a salesman. Still loving the comfort though

The bottomest of bottom lines is, if it is comfy for you, than that is the only thing that matters really

Its got fair travel, which at 140mm seems more mid range these days, spec is ok, and tbh there Ive yet to meet a dedicated cyclist that doesn't seriously upgrade within months of buying anything

Looking at spec wise, yours is about the same as the genius, only you've a Z2,and Ive a fox 36 but outwith that its pretty much the same spec, and I paid £4800, so the money is the same so no differences apart from a comparable fork on slightly less travel.
They're both 29ers, and both have the flip chip thingy, so we could run a mullet.
If you really wanted to you could stick a 160mm fork on front it wouldn't make that much of a difference, maybe a stem change if you really felt it was too twitchy
So all is all i cant see anything being so wrong you could think that you made a bad choice, quite the opposite really.

Bike sales people are notorious. I did a few views/tests and the sales 'individual' was trying to plug onto me a hardtail shopper, not the AM albeit urban use fs 29er i wanted. They talk bollocks and you now are aware of how much bollocks they talk, so no harm done and you're much the wiser.

Yes, overall you made a good choice. Its a top company from Switzerland, its got a bosch system on board, a good fork, a good shock, mid range bits, and compared to many you'll pay £6k for, considerably better spec wise. so a good price at £4800

To be fair, the Scott website does describe the Strike as "the definition of comfort for a full suspension e-MTB" so I don't think you were mis-sold. I've got a Strike 930 and use it for pretty much the same things you do and it does that really well and it is comfortable
