I would like a new battery design from Bosch that creates new bike design.

The main battery to be around 500Wh. This is enough for most rides.

Then 150Wh booster batteries that can be slotted into a second area of the down tube towards the head tube. Weight just under 1Kg.

The 500Wh battery close to the motor for good weight distribution.

The 150wh booster batteries can be swapped in as required.

Normal Ride - No boosters in down tube. ( 500 Wh total )
Long Ride - Booster in down tube ( 650 Wh total )
Very Long Ride - a spare booster in a back pack. As 150Wh, not very heavy. ( 800 Wh total )
Very very long ride - 2 spare boosters in back pack. ( 950Wh total )

Lapierre do the GLP2. If you buy the expensive one it comes with a 500wh battery and a smaller 300wh battery - in it's own backpack, so you can swap it out on the ride once you've emptied the 500.

Not sure about this solution ( I know some are just my opinion )

I prefer the bosch motor over brose.

The SL motor is not powerful enough for my needs.

I am not a fan of carrying more weight than required for the ride I want to do.

I would prefer the battery to slot into the frame rather than a water bottle holder, but this would be a compromise I could accept if I know it is "locked in"

Specialized are over priced.

GLP2 means I have to carry the 500wh when I put the 300wh into the frame, not great. It is not like the 500wh becomes lighter when no charge left.

What about buying Bosch powered bike that’s range extender compatible, eg Haibike or Orbea.

Normal Ride - use a 500 Wh
Long Ride - Use the standard 625 Wh
Very Long Ride - 500wh + 500wh
Very very long ride - 625wh + 500wh

Put water bottle in backpack as this definitely gets lighter with use.

Genius ?
