that seems totally at odds with the main Trek web site that lists the new Bosch Smart System 2023 bikes as Gen3 ...which I assumes refers to Bosch Gen3 ( Smart System) and is restricted to the Rail 9.8 and 9 models. Below that the models are referred to as Gen 2 ( Bosch Gen2) which is the generation previous to the Smart Sytem ( Purion/ original Kiox) with 625 battery.
I have not heard of any Bosch Smart System bikes with anything but the 750 battery before now although Bosch do list both 625wh and 504 wh batteries now as available.
So is the main Trek site totally out of date??

Just came across the new 2023 Rails

Lower spec bikes come with 625 smart system.

New carbon models seem to have hole in top tube for latest Bosch controllers

Good find! I knew they had to break cover soon.

The Gen 4 (Which are true 2023 models) show the new display inside the top tube, instead of the Kiox300. Also the geo on the 9.7 and 9.5 look longer and slacker similar to last years 9.8 and 9.9.

Both the 9.5 and 9.7 Gen 4 have 750wh batteries too. Very interested to see specs on the Rail 5 & 7 alloy models and if they keep the 625wh battery.

Heres another site. That has more details on the rail 7. Looks to have smart controller with 625 battery.

Interesting so Rail 5 and 7 with smart system and 625wh batteries but no Kiox or top tube display...

Glad I got my 9.8 in December with a mega discount. Quite liking the kiox and bigger controller now that I'm used to it. Almost would prefer it over the newer Bosch integration.

Disappointing that people buying the alloy Rails only get a 625 battery still. Giant might get more of the value oriented market this year with their 800wh battery PW-X3 bikes.

Just checked again and blazing bikes have the 9.8 and 9.9 (with CXR motor) listed now.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but the 9.8XT at £10,075 is a higher RRP than what the 22 9.8XT was? Also the 9.9 XTR from £10,650 in MY22 to £11,825 for the MY23 model.

Boy those CXR 9.9's are pricey at £12,775!!

Those welds on the the Rail 7 looks friggin enormous...especially near the top tube. Is this normal on alloy bikes?
