The climb up to Nan Bield from Gatesgarth isn't rideable unless you are Danny McCaskill. You'll need walk mode at very least and be prepared for some liftss over boulders. Descent to Gatesgarth is incredible too.

If you're looking for lakes classic descending then Garburn is right next door and dropping into Kentmere is a fantastic rocky tech-fest.

A great route is start from Staveley (there's a brewery here for past ride refueling and a massive bike shop too) go via Dubbs Reservoir to Troutbeck, up and over Garburn into Kentmere then the 3 Rivers descent back to Staveley, could add extra lol in around Sadgill and HP plantation too.

Cheers, I'll check it out.
Tried to get up hellvellen Sunday but went in the wrong side so decided to get off and had some mishaps doing so, mate hurt himself going over the bars.
Walked it Monday and rekon going in from glenridding is do able, heading up to hellvellen then dropping down dolly wagon pike
