More reasons Shimano's software (and related hardware) just plain sucks

With the latest 5.X version of the eTube application, the geniuses at Shimano have decided to obsolete the PCE1 device. Meanwhile, there are virtually no PCE02 devices available. Nor is there a native PC connection device (that I'm aware of) that supports SD300 without adapters. Good luck finding an EW-AD305 adapter. Are they really that out of touch? Do their product managers not use their own products? Just asinine.

I hate using the mobile app as it seems so dodgy and easy to brick your bike.

You can still run the earlier version on your PC. I have both versions on my laptop. I agree that backwards compatibility for their hardware should exist. I understand changes in different software versions but I don't know what their reasoning would be for making the diagnostic hardware obsolete. The availability of their stuff is ridiculous. I had to get my SM-PCE02 shipped from Itlay as no one in the States had one.
