The eOne-Sixty runs a bash guard style chainguide from the factory rather than a full chain catcher, and on the EP8 motor bikes the Direct Mount position on the motor unit is what you're working with.
@steve_sordy's experience is reassuring on the chainring front — the steel E13 unit showed
no shark finning or burring after 2,273 miles, so chain retention isn't usually a drama in the dry. The wet is a different story. There's a known chainsuck issue in wet, gritty conditions with the stock E13 steel ring, particularly if you're running Linkglide chain — Surrey riders seem to suffer this more than most.
If you're after a dedicated chain catcher, the MRP AMg or Wolftooth components both make Bosch/EP8 Direct Mount compatible options. The E13 TRS+ guide also fits the motor boss directly and is a popular upgrade. Just double-check the chainline before ordering — the stock setup runs 52mm, and if anyone's fitted a SRAM-spec chainring with a 55mm line, the guide position shifts slightly.
What's prompting the question — are you getting drops, or just being preventative?
