Have an e160 ltd and lost my battery cover riding on Monday. Cost to replace is $60 and will take a couple of weeks to get here. Having a look around on Facebook it seems like a few other people have lost theirs too.

Has it happened to anyone else on here?
What have you done to make sure it doesnt come off?

Cheers

Okay found a replacement cover that someone else had and just made this mod to make sure it doesnt come off again. By putting the piece of plastic in there it uses the existing latch as a screw for the cover instead of just having the rubber hook.

Where I ride, I know of two others with merida e160's that have lost their covers. That's pretty amazing considering there aren't many ebikes around here yet. Your fix might work; I'd rather be sure :ROFLMAO:. I took the Mr Bean approach.

I use a dakine gripper bag which holds a spare tube and tyre levers. Peace of mind in case the battery cover comes off on the trail or while the bike is on my bike rack. My cover has never come off, but use this just in case.

I like this idea. I had strapped my spare tube to the top tube where it meets the seat tube, but it slid forward and knocked the shock lever. This solves 2 problems at once.

Have an Amygos bashguard on mine which covers the motor and the bottom of battery cover and then a spare tube strapped round the top. Secured top and bottom and not going anywhere!

Does the bottom strap cover the charge port?

Yes, but it's only a velcro strap so just needs loosening to access the charge port. No need to remove the bashguard or anything like that.

Will say I took the motor cover off the other day and it was still very clean inside there after 700miles riding so think it does a good job at deflecting mud/water etc away from the motor too.

Sweet! I will have to look into them, the exchange rate makes them a bit pricey to ship to Aus but I am all about protecting the bike!

The low battery cradle has 2 screw holes. I use two flat head screw with a rubber washer to hold the cover inplace and stuck a bit of foam rubber on the top inside of the cover to prevent battery rattle. Works like a dream. No need to drill into the frame or have anything protruding from the frame.

I followed the instructions however using 1mm aluminium flat plate. Works perfectly without any issues whatsoever ... gratitude and thanks :)))

Does anyone here know where I can buy a battery cover for my 2020 Merida eone sixty lmtd edition 504wh battery XS size bike? It fell off while riding the mountains and I’ve been trying to find it but could not in the U.S.
