I just dont get how anyone can put an e7000 motor in a bike and charge more than 5k
I feel the same way, call me bias because I own a Devinci but personally I would rather get a Devinci EP, simple build with same suspension travel and a 29er and I’m pretty sure it comes with the new EP8 motor. Same price point, actually a little lower I think.
I understand why Kona is ask $7000 for the Remote 160 DL, it has all the latest motor, battery and fork on the market. But I don't get pricing on the Kona Remote 160 and 130. The Remote 160 has the Zeb, but is using E7000 motor, so should be like a $5500 price and the Remote 130 is running a lower end Fox 34 fork and the E7000 motor price should be like $5000 tops.
Yep U R right the Kona Remote DL only come with the 504Wh battery So $7000 is too much for the Remote DL, should be like $6500.Check again. New DL only has the old 504 battery. If you compare it against the latest Commencal Meta Power SX where, for £5K, you get the EP8, the 630 battery, a Zeb 180mm and an integrated speed sensor, it makes the Kona, at £6.3k, pretty poor value by comparison.
True the 504 has plenty juice for most riders that want to do a trail ride. I figure it about another 8 ~ 10 miles more distant with the 630 battery over the 504. I was checking the Darfon website and the spec on the battery weight, the 504 = 2.8Kg (6.2) and 630 = 3.4Kg (7.5lbs), so about a 1lbs more in weight for the 630. Personally an extra 1lbs for another 8 ~ 10 miles is a good trade off to me
