I’ve put down a deposit for the Sight VLT aluminum. It’s a great deal at $4800, but I prefer the 160/170 mm travel of the Range and I’m interested in the high pivot. The cheaper of the Ranges is still $2500 more than the Sight. I’m pretty sure you can long shock the Sight and make it a 160 mm bike by removing a spacer in the shock to increase its stroke from 60 to 65. So, I could just buy a 170 mm fork and have the same travel as the Range (minus the high pivot, bigger battery and better motor). Just curious to see if anyone has any thoughts or experience long-shocking a bike. My philosophy is more “buy the bike, not the motor” so before someone tells me to just buy an Amflow, I’m not really interested in that bike.
