Hi all, I'm not sure where videos go but here's a mate chasing me down Peaty's Steel City DH track in Sheffield. Be kind, I only took up biking in July. LOL.

Bike: Trek rail 5 with various upgrades. I filled the forks and shock with tokens just to try it and it rides like a dream now. 5 tokens in the 38s and 4 in the X2. I've put 60mm raiser bars on and a very short Renthal stem as well as DHF Maxx Grip tyres front and rear. This bike used to buck me over certain jumps when I got it but it now floats over the gaps. I probably should have bought a DH emtb but this thing now does everything I need. Oh and I have DMR V12s and Hope Fortus wheels on too, The question is, what upgrade would you buy next if anything? (Colour coding can come later)

Here's a few more vids:

1. Clearing a gap I said i'd never try:

2. Almost hitting a tree last night:

3.All 3 gaps POV:

4: Trying to keep up with a proper rider:

Meanwhile, i was so close to otb last night. I think i put too much pressure in my shock. It felt great until this jump.

I had to lean so far back I burnt my arse on the back tyre and hurt my balls on the back of the seat. Sitting down now hurts like I've been caned at a 1970s school ffs.

Decent riding for someone who's only been riding a couple of months!

Your arse is going to take some time to get used to riding so I wouldn't rush to swap saddles. I quite like Specialized saddles for comfort though.

Do you ride over Wharncliffe side much?
Not an upgrade but I have a spare battery which is good if you want to get lots of laps in at Greno/Wharny/Deepcar in a day

Not much really. I seem to be sticking to steel city but if i can get a group together we will do some exploring.

Props. Good work doing the big gap, that thing is very intimidating (so much so I haven't done it yet).
My mate Jonny is an ex trials bike rider but a complete novice at mountainbiking. I recently got him to buy an ebike and on his 4th ride, after poring all my knowledge into him and telling him how to avoid the mistakes I made, he did this....

So if you fancy it let me know and I'll tow you in like I did him. It's not even hard as long as you stand tall on the bike and don't squash the back wheel into your arse resulting in a nose dive. 25mph take off min.

I also recommend looking at this website - here you can have a great time playing without investing.
Your mate hasn't given up riding? He probably forgot all your instructions at that moment.

He's barely competed on his trials bike in the last 10 years...nor ridden it. I drummed it into him to stand as tall as he can and at the point of the jump he remembered not to put his arse on the back wheel...which I forgot today and almost went over. :/

Legit. I took a dirt jump kid to lenzeheide and he full sent the biggest lines and jumps on my enduro. Bike skills translate to other bike skills.

Turns over once, and he remembers. It often does. Words are poorly remembered, but personal experience is good.

Thanks. Having someone to follow in for the speed would be very helpful. I've done the table next to it on the meat-bike but rather over-jumped it a few times.
Lots of good DH stuff over the road in Wharncliffe but some of it is quite hard to find. I can probably return the favour by showing you round.
