If you are new to mtb in general stick to the Grenoside side of the road. Pub Run is a good place to start and there is lots to do on Steel City DH just watch out for the odd gap jump on there you might want to bypass.

Greno is pretty hardy as far as the weather goes which is an added bonus.
Wharncliffe is generally steep and techy. Gets slippery in the wet.

Download the Trailforks app or look for segments on Strava to find the trails (Grenoside is signposted).

If you’ve watched videos online of steel city just be aware that unlessthey are fairly recent they won’t have shown the gap jump before the well known older gap. All of them are avoidable if need be, I was there a few weeks back and it was running really nicely!
