Hello everyone. Merry Christmas!

I am Tomislav from Zagreb-Croatia. I bought a giant trance x e+ 3 2022 and upgraded quality parts from the previous bike. I installed a 170mm fork, which gave me a fork angle of approx. 64°. what do you think about this setup? I also bought an 800wh battery for longer carefree rides. How satisfied are you with your Giant trance-reign?

Nice bike! I’m not sure if the geometry is the same as my 2021 trance, but I also upgraded the fork to 170mm and find it a big improvement. I went with a Bomber Z1 air.

the geometry is the same as far as I can see according to the giant specifications. you can feel a big improvement with the 170mm fork. absorption of bumps is more fluid, softer. the bike behaves great on the descents, and I have no problems on the climbs.

I agree, much better all around, it seems that Giant should have specified a 160 or 170 instead of the 150 my Trance came with. Only slightly lighter front wheel while climbing steep sections, but more stability everywhere else.

I have the e+ 3 so it came with the 35 RL Gold fork. That fork had some design issues and never performed well. Moving up to a mid-range fork like the Z1 was a very noticeable improvement.

The chainstay is longer on Trance vs Reign. 470 vs 455mm
