I have a 2022 Cube stereo hybrid 160 and decided to convert to tubless , when I removed the rear wheel the cassette fell off
The freehub has came apart, it's all back together and appears fine now but surely this shouldn't happen when I remove the rear wheel should it?
The bike has only been ridden half a dozen times so I doubt it has failed but it does seem a strange design 🤔

It depends on your hub, some can be just pulled off without tools…and some just fell off. The same happened to me also with Shimano hub.

You don't want it just falling off because all the important little bits can fall out and roll under the workbench with all the dust and dog hair. Some hubs are held together by the friction of seals or o-rings. Optimally, you want everything to be in good shape, as it also keeps out dirt and water. Realistically, grease blocks a lot of the gunk from getting inside.
