Hey who is running the new Fox 38? I finally put in my order and I hope to get it in the next couple of weeks. I just have not been satisfied with the stock 150mm Pike.
What is everybody's settings? I will post mine once I get it and tune it.

I also have the SWAT headset tool. Am I still able to use it? Im wondering if the ovalized hole at the bottom of the steerer tube is going to cause me issues with that. Or do I need to be prepared to install a headsut nut and cap?

I got the shiny orange color, but it only comes in 180mm from Fox. So the shop Im getting it from will need to lower it to 160mm before they ship it out to me.

Well, I did also bought the Fox 38, as the std Gold 35 is really bad. It will be shipped soon, as I was told.
Went for 160mm but 44mm rake, instead of 51... the 51mm was probably available at the end of July and I cant wait that much.

I also have the SWAT CC headset tool and I am also wondering if it will work. if you find anything about it, let me know.

Inside the new Fox 38

I hope one day, they make something worth to buy. I have dpx2, fox 36, both a pile of poop.

I watched that and I still bought it. Why? because he never talked about how it actually rides. I have a lot of respect for him and his company but at the end of they day he is just setting everybody up to make us buy his upgrades. Of course he is going to point out all the bad stuff about the fork because eventually he will be offering his latest upgrade for the fork.
I just want to know how it performs on the bumps and jumps on the trail. And quite frankly thats all that I want to know and experience for myself.
BTW this thread is about the new Fox 38. Not about the DPX2 or Fox 36. If it rides like poop then why havent you replaced it yet? Maybe the new Fox 38 is what you've been waiting for! lol.

My fox 38 should be here by monday I hope!

Sorry If I hurt anyone feelings, this wasn't my intention.

I dont think so there are any worth to buy suspension product on the market yet. We are fed with half developed products at insane prices by fox and other companys. This is my own opinion, as a technical guy, who had his fox products replaced several times on warranty, and still having the same problems, which can't be solved, because they are designed like that. That's how the world operate sadly.

I'm pretty sure its better than Fox36, but it's an evolution, not a revolution. I don't think anyone who buys it making a mistake, I was thinking to replace mine also, it's new and shiny, we are programmed to do so....

Btw, I watched Bernard video, yeah, the fork works, it's compressing and decompressing as it should, like all others.

I totally agree with the "evolution, not a revolution". Im really hoping the Fox38 is better than the Rockshox Lyrik that I currently have on this bike. Which is kind of odd because I had a Lyrik on my Evil Wreckoning and I absolutely loved it. Is it the weight of the bike that changes the feel? or the different geometry of the bikes? Im sure it makes a huge difference on the suspension characteristics of the components. Which is why I believe that just because a certain fork or shock sucks on one bike, it might be awesome on another bike. Which also reminds me when I was running the Cane Creek Double Barrel Air rear shock on my Pivot Mach6. It was so awesome when hitting the big jumps or drops, but it kinda sucked on the regular trails. It just felt so "chattery" on the trails. I played with the LSC and HSC numerous times and I could never get it dialed in for the normal rocky and rooty trails. However, my friends Banshee rode like a dream with the same exact rear shock!

I promise you, that once I get the fork installed and tuned I will give my honest opinion of the 38.

no feelings were hurt in the making of this thread. Cheers!

Hi guys.
I'm waiting for Fox 38 with 160 for my levo comp. Not sure if i should change to 36 with 170 travel?
Everyone has different ideas. Anything will be better than the Lyriks.

There is no 36 with 170 travel. The 36 is 150 & 160 only.

From what ive seen in reviews, Lyrik is a very good fork, maybe yours need some service and checkup.

What Lyrik do you have?? If it's the basic RC damper pull that and replace with a 2.1 charger damper or an Avalanche damper. If that's not enough put a smashpot into it.

My Decoy 2020 came with Fox 36 170 travel. But I don't think you can change the travel on Fox ebike forks due to the forks using 34 internals.

Well I got good news and bad news.
Good news is that the SWAT top cap/tool fits the fork! Just make sure that you turn the bottom
piece so that it sits nicely in the oval shape.
The bad news for me... I need new end caps for my stock Roval wheels. The fox has a smaller diameter drop-out. About 19mm. The end caps that came on my wheels are 31 mm. I believe this is because I had the Rockshox front fork. So if you are going from a Rockshox fork to the Fox fork, you may need new end caps like me.

Either way Im still stoked that its finally here! First one on the island too! However, this end cap issue is going to keep me from getting a first ride with the new fork anytime soon. It takes time to get stuff shipped here. oh well. live and learn.

Oh boy, there is always something. I know that feeling when you get something new, and you can't use it, very frustrating. :( I hope you can get that sorted out sooner than excepted.

Here’s the weight of the fork after I cut the Steerer tube to length. About 6 1/8 inches long or 156mm.

or new?

which end caps you bought? I don’t know how to look for those
