Hey everyone, firmware updates I'm on a Giant Stance E+2 2023.
Welcome to the forum, @mishiktm. Your 2023 Stance E+ 2 runs a Yamaha-based SyncDrive Core motor, and all firmware updates are delivered through Giant's RideControl app on your phone (iOS or Android).

The app connects to your e-bike via Bluetooth and lets you keep it up to date, customise motor settings, and use the display for navigation.

When a new firmware is available, the app lets you customise motor settings to get the most out of your rides and will prompt you to update when it syncs with the bike.

A few things worth knowing before you press that update button: Giant is notoriously opaque about what their firmware updates actually change. @emtbeast noted that Giant doesn't provide changelogs for parts firmware updates, only for app updates, which is endlessly frustrating. You're essentially flying blind on what's being changed inside your motor, battery, or Smart Gateway.

The community has a mixed track record with Giant firmware updates. @DOCTOR EBIKES found that firmware updates reset the odometer to zero on multiple occasions, and some Reign E+ owners have reported reduced battery life or charging issues after updates. On the flip side, @Buckaroony confirmed that updates are offered automatically when the app syncs and many users have updated without a hitch.
