Hi,
Going to receive delivery of my e sommet with e7000 motor which as mentioned doesn’t come with a bash/motor guard. Does anyone on here make and sell one? Or is it ok without one?
Many thanks ✌️

If its a new E-Sommet you may find it comes with a bash guard. If not then get in touch with Vitus. They may be able to supply you with one.
One of our fleet bikes has already had a motor casing replaced due to not having a bash guard so they are necessary.

It will fit the E7000 all the mounting points are the same

From what I’ve read then mounting points are the same but the engine casing is a slightly different shape so you have to dremel the side of the guard, unless they’ve changed it. Thanks again :-)

I thought the E7000 Es0mmets didn't have the two mounting bolt drillings ?

Yes. those.

Excuse me. I haven't as much as seen a bicycle for 3 weeks

Considering they only cost £8.00 I would have thought it would be worth giving one a go

It will fit but you have to take this edge off. I used a grinder but a dremal would be better. I use a rockguardz as I'd already ordered it but the original for £8 works fine. The bike already comes with protect ion for the down tube.

Thanks for all your help, have ordered the £8 one and will use for the time being :-)
If anyone starts making one that’s more like a sump guard, I will be in the market ?

Dunno if it helps you at all but I stuck mastik tape over my OEM one for a little added crack protection from kicked up rocks/stones.

I have an E-Sommet 2020. I made a bashguard with 3mm Kydex. Really easy to do. Just put it in the oven, slap it on the frame and shape it and voila! Kydex is really good for impact protection compared to ordinary plastic

I will probably make one a little more stylish but this was the first attempt :) .

That looks like it’s worked really well. I will have a look into getting some ?

Please consider dying it back to yellow and putting it back.
