playing devils advocate here, DJI is a brand that seems to really care about their social media image - they literally throw money at influencers to promote stuff. Say there were Some horror stores on youtube etc about motor failures - i feel like they would throw money equally at lbs / maybe your local dji drone repair hub to make life easy for warranty / repairs if it got to that. just my thoughts
For all we know early adopters may experience the best customer service known to mankind.:)

I've just noticed they have a 30-day unconditional return when bought direct from their website. That's pretty good and shows confidence in the product.

ok guys, so we're all getting wound up about a bike that gives you a nice boost in power, total upside plus a big battery.... Frame is just ok, nothing awesome.... Downside? Frame support, I'm guessing that will be a real hassle if you crack the frame, plus what about motor support. My Rise blew out the motor, and with the help of my Bay Area LBS, it was fixed and solved in 5 days, they did the labor. Think you're going to get this support with the introduction of this brand? Take any off brand that is new to the market, and you'll quickly discover it's a TOTAL pain in the ass getting anything supported. Like, send us your defective motor and 3 weeks later you get to find someone to install the motor correctly, or possibly do it yourself. But this is a select group of people. Now what about 3,4, or 5 years from now? No one is thinking this through correctly, I think. All for some awesome boots up the hill, but does anyone really run BOOST all the time, or do we ride with groups that vary with rider ability to slow down a bit, wait for the slower rider... so this is somewhat crazy. Enjoy what you have, and wait and see what comes with the recent change in motor torque and screen tech. Not sure Specialized will just play dead., plus their support and frames are superior. Ugh, what a world.
I too have a Rise (Hydro) - which I'd also describe the frame as being nothing awesome - with an EP801 which is not the best motor either. But I love riding it.
From what I seen from reviews the Amflow/Avinox package is very good. And it's more than just massive power - the control and the way the power is delivered always impressed the reviewers.

It's going to be interesting when we start to get real world feedback when there's more out there.

they don't quite work like that. DJI is incredibly siloed and their customer support is usually low level online reps based in Thailand. When it comes to issues they completely ignore things to the point of no return usually.

Time and time and time again they will completely ghost known issues and play dumb even when you literally have hundreds of posts on their forums and social media pagest with the issue. They do sometimes in the end resolve it with a LOT of noise but it takes a LOT usually. I have been in the position of highlighting a number of issues we have managed to get fixed but it'd really taken months and videos and posts a 100k views or more.

We had one just last month and it was causing people to loose their drones. DJI won't even admit they fixed it as they would be liable for the issues so they just released an update that says "fixed some known issues" and the fault is gone and then they ghost everyone who has it.

DJI is so difficult to deal with at times Philip Bloom a fairly well known videographer and a reviewer resorted to a Change.org pretition to get them a add a feature back they removed in a firmware update.

Something you have to understand genreally in chinese culture is not to admit mistakes and sweep them underground and move on. This is at the core of the company.

Sadly I'm not sure the others are that much better right now.

So ask yourself, have any one of you had any issues with your e bike thus far. For me I have two. A Orbea Rise, motor replacement which is a major thing. At some point I'll need a battery replacement, say a year down the road. The other bike is a Levo S works. To date, needed to change out the Fox rear shock and then upgraded to the Cascade link. There are a bunch of the riding group that needed to change the belt on the Gen 3 under warranty, plus the shock issues, and some other assorted stuff. With the local Specialized dealer 15 min away, it gets fixed with no issues, and there is even a Specialized owned store in Santa Cruz. They are awesome too. Wondering if you spend 10k USD on a bike if you'll be very frustrated if the support is just so, so. Time will tell, but these bikes are becoming so service and support centered that one must think, oh my, I need to a Change.org petition to get them to respond??

Let them land the bike properly and we will see where it land and how on the mid/long term.

All here are speculations for pages and discussion are really going into circles if you pay attention.

One thing for sure, they have spend so much money on marketing that they would be dumb to be bad at service and aftermarket, especially in a modern world when a random dude can spit his venom on a brand in 2 second and put lots of discredits

Let people be guinea pig, we need them for us to potentially buy the second gen or Avinox other brands - or simply not.

Just a reminder of real world
- brose have made terrible unreliable motor, still there, better now
- fazua ... well work well until it's not, one of the worst, guess what they still sell them a lot, incredible
- bosch and shimano, it can take ages for a fix even if Bosch is more reliable
etc

To me there is not really anything reliable as I would like in emtb motor. I do not know where stand Pinion these days...

It's kind of crazy really. A truly bad*ss performing motor/ battery package from a company that has a long-proven history of jerking consumers around, strapped around an Alibaba rip off frame, and people want to pay $8K (or whatever) for this. So that on rare occasion you can blast up a hill at what is approaching dirt bike speeds.

Do you people even know how often e-bikes, heck even just bikes, break?! It's not an if, it's a when, and usually multiple times.

Happy to be a Guinea pig, it's only 9k for the base model and with 2yrs warranty that should do me. My local dealer had a demo in today, I went for a quick spin around the car park and I'm sold. The spec is on par with my turbo levo and it cost an extra 2k.

I’d really like to see one of the larger manufacturers partner up with Bafang on a few bikes, I swear their motors are more reliable than some of the mainstream ones and have had impressive power all along. The M560 has all the power of the Avinox if not even more, and with them now having some pretty nice looking integrated displays, I honestly think they could compete in the higher end market pretty well.

A nylon gear in the 500W M560 should quiet it down nicely and some customized tunes could probably give it the exact feel anyone wants. I just find it funny how there’s this insane hype over the power of the Avinox when the M560 already has just as much power available and nobody seems to talk about it at all. Bafang really just needs some better battery tech to round off their lineup.

Picked up my amflow yesterday the power is something else even in trail mode. I’ve had Bosch gen4 and Yamaha gen2 for me the Yamaha had loads or torque and was a great motor. I traveled 5 hours there and back to get the bike
And I’m afraid to say. It’s not very well after just a 2.5 mile ride around the local park the motor is stiff and makes a noise trying to turn.
I’ll contact the lbs tomorrow but it’s not a good start. Hopefully I can fix it. Rather than the 5 hour round trip

Well I know of one other, so thats 2 out of a shipment of 300 that I'm aware of.
Yours sounds like a physical problem though......fingers crossed for ya.

Ride Wrap has the full tailored protection that covers 99% of the frame. It is tricky and you should watch youtube tutorials before you start as it is very easy to stuff up and a lot of technique is required to do a good job. It took me about 3-4 hours to wrap mine. Absloutely worth it as the Amflow black is very prone to micro scratchs and will look crap after 6 months if not protected. About $150 USD for the kit.

To see most replacing the stem, handlebars, rear shock, cranks, tires, and seat, and some even going to aluminum burlier rims, then maybe that's the way to go. Oh, you can sell those replaced parts for a bit to put towards this effort?

To add to that, there are a lot of dreambikes around the 10k mark that will have various advantages over the AMflow.

The weight and spec of the 6.5k model really put it in a league of its own at that price point.

Did you get it sorted ? What was the outcome.

I hope they swapped the bike ?

Amflow has setup a customer support line in this forum.

Be great if peeps who have bought Amflows use it, if they have issues, so potential buyers can track how well customers are being supported.

This is how brands are working today, forum, reddit…

It should not be better than direct contact but it is as they want to control image. It is damage control, brand fear snowball effect on reputation.

Had always better result through public mean but sometime brand they ask you to down/delete content or at the very least disclose how good you are treated.

I am very critical of them at times however DJI do not usually ask people to remove negative comments or issues. They don't try to hide public bad comments.

And be fair to them they will have low level customer service teams in place to revolve issues and at times for issues like repairs, doa ect they do fantastic work. It's when it's more complex things like firmware or design issues where things tend to go sideways.

DJI will also put a LOT of effort into getting some experience as well so don't be surprised to even see some very knowledgeable people turn up as a rep in the early days especially. I was one of them for the drones my self. Then they tend to fall back to more generic support over time.

It's good to see them putting people in place to help people but what I would say is just temper expeditions on what kind of information you will get.

On the drone side I usually compare them to the Apple Gienus bar so don't expect to get information like when the next firmware update will come to fix an issue or when the new model will release but if you had a general customer service issue they will sort you out in good time.

did it feel compared to the levo ( im finding the levo heavy and sluggish on the trails. people might say thats "planted". looking at a pivot shuttle AM as the Amflow isnt sold locally but could get one whilst im in aussie at end of the year,. )

how could the two bikes not feel different. At almost 10lbs. difference, we can honestly deduce that lightweight EMTB's are kinda a different category as the Full Power rigs. It was best described like the difference from a full offroad Jeep Rubicon copared to a Toyota 4 runner. They might both serve different purposes and that's ok. Would you consider the Amflow frame really capable of say 170-160 out back set up for a 220 lb rider? I see this going two directions. Amflow for a lightweight nimble and fun medium trial to slight aggressive rig, and a full on say 180-160 or maybe 170 outback enduro machine for huge hits, and punishing days, slack angles and can handle riders with extra heft. If you really are into the sport, Keep your full power ride and grow the suspension, and get the Amflow rig and keep it super light and nimble. Then ride 1/3 more!

The XL felt small compared to my Levo S5. The power was noticeably different, it felt smooth but also super powerful and quiet, but the motor had virtually no load on it so that may change when I actually get it out in the wild. It was a very short ride.
I am just under 6ft and went for XL and very happy with it. I did slide the saddle forward in the rails to make to cockpit a bit more compact, this does help climbing as it moves weight forward. Overall, the bike is extremely nimble and I don't feel like I have sacrificed any playfulness by sizing up. I am very happy I went for XL over L.

I think turning around the flip chip for the 27.5 back wheel would increase travel about maybe 5mm to 155mm or maybe little more... In my opinion the geometry of the link looks like that, it gets a little more travel I think
(effective link travel + around 2 mm x leverage Ratio 2,72= back wheel travel around + 5mm).

The frame Geometry also changes with the mullet backwheel:

I still wait for my bike - did anyone change to mullet and measure the back travel?
