As for the bass gear, I don't mind the noise, I'll sacrifice that for a piece of mind while on the trails and same goes for the heat solution. All seems reasonable cost for the upgrades. I have a bafang m600 with Luna's controller throwing over 2k watts. Although I never max out the settings, it does cause me to constantly check the Temps when climbing a long steep hill.
My GT has an odd bottom bracket. It is part of the pivot system on rear suspension.
Here is a gent that was able to make it work with slight mods.
