Hi - I'm after a bit of advice if anyone has any!!

I am trying to choose between the two bikes above.

The Specialized is actually more expensive overall as I get an additional 15% off the Cube if I purchase via my work scheme (as the Specialized is already discounted I can't get the extra discount).

Apart from the Specialized branding premium and slight price difference (once you factor in the extra 15% off on the Cube) has anyone got any thoughts about which bike is the superior choice?

Also bear in mind I may sell the bike in 2/3 years time and upgrade and I think the Speialized might be easier to sell.

I'm quite an experienced rider and by all accounts the Specialized bike is well reviewed and top in some tests. The Cube is unknown. I have seen some people dismiss them entirely and others say they are great bikes.

Any thoughts or advice to help me choose would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well, everyone has their own opinion, I have a Turbo Levo Comp Alloy since 2022, and I love it, I have around 6k km, and I have nothing bad to say. But in today's market if I had to choose between those 2 I would go for the Cube with 800Wh battery, it has a refreshed motor and battery from bosch, that Specialized is not updated since 2022 ...

Ok that's interesting to know. I can't really find any reviews of the Cube though which is weird. But maybe I'll go for it.

The spec is very good for the price although I'm not sure if carbon is a pro or a con as I've heard horror stories regarding it cracking.

My stereo hybrid is a 2023 model, carbon frame, had it two years with no issues,it gets abused on a weekly basis in wales and has performed flawlessly, but i did junk the crap newmen wheels on purchasing it and had some wheels built for it to my spec, got rid of the rubbish rockshox silvers and replaced them with domains which imo are way better.
the only downside of cubes in the awful integrated acros headset, but i have modified mine with nukeproof parts which are a better quality.

Test ride both then make your decision 👍
Both great bikes with good robust warranty
If your anywhere near the tweed valley your welcome to take my One77 Slx for a ride
Thanks! I'm nowhere near and I can't test ride either so I'm kinda of going in blind.

I think I will go for the Cube - hopefully it rides as good as the specs and looks suggest...

Hi, I just bought that exact Cube. Bike is really good other than being a bit low and experiencing crank strikes, and the battery cover having a bit of a cheap vibe.

I came close to getting the Levo 2 years ago, but the feedback on reliability was so bad I couldn't risk it, maybe things have improved (it is the same motor, but brose claim to have made it more reliable).

One reason why I wouldn't get the Levo currently is knowing that the new one is just around the corner and will most likely be a major improvement over the old one. This is very much a perception thing, as the current Levo has a really nice frame and electronics (ignoring reliability). At least with the Cube you know you are getting the latest tech from Bosch and might benefit from some tech upgrades (top tube screen and additional power via software update expected).

Specialized and Santa cruz bikes hold their value much better than others, but with ebikes depreciation is pretty crazy. If you are getting 15% off the Cube you shouldn't be losing too much after 2-3 years especially with the brand new bosch electronics. Pulling numbers out of my @#$€, but from looking at resale sites, I would expect to be able to get a minimum of 2500 for the cube vs a bit over 3000 for the spesh (hard to say as I see loads of Levos at prices that will never ever sell).

Yeah I felt the same way about the Specialized reliability.

Almost every secondhand Levo I looked at mentioned 'new motor' in the advert so I think there was huge issues with reliability.
