New install of a modified Nukeproof Mega Alloy 275 Chain Stay on the X2. I had to make a few cuts but it did fit well. The double sided tape included sticks well. I added a bead of RTV sealer around the edges to keep the water out.
Nice. I have an e22, which has the same rear triangle. And the chain wears up really high on the chainstay. That looks like it might just protect the area that's copping it.
3 areas of the rubber I trimmed were.
1) The inside of that front upper area so the rubber could lay flat. See the picture where the yellow line shows the area I had to trim to get it to lay flat.
2) The rectangle area in the rear for the shifter cable. Cut the last two ribs out.
3) The rear inside so it cleared the pivot bearing.
You could just combine the options 2 and 3 cut the rubber off in front of the shifter cable to make it easier but I chose the option to cut the square out and trim the rubber to clear the pivot bearing. See pic below the yellow line is where I could have cut the rubber. I think it maximizes the amount of rubber protecting the carbon. I also installed a clear plastic paint protector over the paint before installing the rubber protector. You can see the faint line of the plastic in the pictures.
I would like to try the other Nukeproof Mega Alloy MTB Chain Stay Protector 290 which looks the same. Nukeproof Mega Alloy MTB Chain Stay Protector 290
Looks like it is out of stock unless someone has another link?
4 months now and the Nukeproof Mega Alloy 275 Chain Stay protector is working no issues. I do run a Shimano XT M8100 SGS derailer with a clutch which helps reduce the chain slap.
