Just picked up my new Scott Patron.

All went well until the bike went onto the E Hornet Buzzrack tow bar rack. The top tube is so wide and thick that although the clamp could just about fit over the width top tube because of the depth of the top tube it doesn’t clamp onto a spherical top tube, so the clamp can be lifted up (and so don’t want to trust this system with the British potholes!)

Any fixes? Can’t seem to find extra wide clamps for them online. For small trips a towel and straps will work, but one of the benefits of the E Hornet was being able to lock the bike to the rack when doing long journeys etc. so would be good to have a secure system!

Van life one day will fix this I’m sure!

I had a similar issue, can you clamp to the seat post?

So the Scott has an integrated rear shock, which while I thought great for protecting from
The Surrey hills crud does seem to make access to a tube more difficult….

Sadly no such luck the Scott’s stem is too wide for the fitting on the false cross bar. A simple strap works for the short journeys, but like having something that locked for those longer car trips!

It looks nice, but is it knife proof?
Yes! You can just about see it on the other photo but the strap is reinforced with metal. Granted I haven’t tested this but feels solid enough. And I feel move confident with this that goes 360 around the frame than the clamps that could be pulled off.
