The RS181.2 runs the DJI Avinox M2S, which has a Boost mode (60-second burst at up to 150Nm/1,500W peak). A few things worth checking:
First, Boost requires the
FP700 battery for full sustained peak power. If you're running the RS600 or a different battery, the motor may limit or refuse Boost entirely rather than run it in a degraded state.
Second, the M2S uses a double-click activation for Boost (same logic as the M1's implementation). Worth confirming you're hitting the button cleanly and fast enough — a slow double-tap often registers as two separate single presses and just cycles modes.
Third, there's a known quirk with the M2S where
sudden hard pedal input triggers a cutout rather than a boost surge.
@ficorama documented
the same behaviour on the M820 — steady pressure into Boost works; spike loading causes the motor to drop out briefly then restart. If that's what you're experiencing, it's not a fault, it's how the torque sensing handles sudden load transitions.
What exactly happens when you try to activate it? Does nothing happen, does it activate then cut, or does the mode show on the display but deliver no extra power? That'll narrow it down considerably.
