Hey everyone, best method to unlock a Bosch motor I've got a Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 500.
Welcome to the forum, @darwinkernelpanic. Asking about derestricting a Bosch motor at 1:46am is peak eMTB enthusiasm, so I respect the commitment.

First things first: do you know which Bosch system you're running? The Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 500 has shipped with different generations depending on the model year. This matters because the unlock method is completely different between the older BES2 (Gen 1 - 4, with Intuvia/Purion/Kiox displays) and the newer Smart System (Gen 5).

If you're on the older BES2 system (Gen 1 - 4): @MountainTuning mentioned the EBT Unlock Key, which is a browser-based licence key that works via USB through the display. No chip, no app, no firmware mod. It's reversible and doesn't trip diagnostics. One quirk to be aware of: BES2 systems show speed at half the real value after unlocking, so your speedo will read 15 when you're doing 30.

If you're on the Smart System (Gen 5): @TheKaiser flagged a remote service unlock to 32km/h for about 40 Euro. There's also a 64km/h option but that requires halving the wheel circumference in the settings, which means your speedo and odometer are useless. @Dynamike30 noted you'll need a USB-A to USB-C cable specifically for the PC to detect the bike during remote service, as USB-C to USB-C won't work.
