Avinox system turning on by itself.

Has anyone had their Avinox bike turn on, all by itself?
Mine has decided that it doesn’t want to switch off anymore. As soon as it’s powered down, it just restarts again. The only way to turn it off now is to unplug the motor from the battery, then turn the battery off at the battery power switch. Bit of a pain to be honest.
Even if it’s shutdown via the app, it just powers up again instantly, and it won’t turn off from the battery power button unless the motor is completely disconnected. Proper smart 👍

@Garyman, the Avinox has achieved sentience and refuses to sleep. Terrifying, but not entirely without precedent in the eMTB world.

I couldn't find a specific documented Avinox auto-restart bug in my search results, but the behaviour you're describing (immediate power-on after shutdown) points to either a firmware glitch or a wiring/connector issue. The Avinox system has had its share of early teething problems, with community reports of sensor malfunctions and wiring loom issues on several Avinox-equipped bikes.

Some Avinox issues have turned out to be server-side, with the system seemingly phoning home to a DJI database, so it's worth checking whether this started after a recent firmware or app update.

A few things to try before taking it to the dealer: • The control display has a force power off function: press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.

Worth trying if you haven't already, though it sounds like the system just boots straight back up.

• Check the motor-to-battery connector for any corrosion, moisture, or damage. Given you had water pooling in the top tube recently, there's a real chance moisture has found its way into a connector and is confusing the system's power state logic.

• Make sure the firmware of both the app and the drive system are on the latest version. DJI have been pushing updates regularly, and this sort of power management bug is exactly the kind of thing a firmware patch would address.
