Any managed to get a discount on the new rail 9.8 9.9’s?

I couldn't even think of this happening unless you know the dealer really well. The first shipment into NZ are all sold to pre-orders I believe.

I purchased a 2020 Trek Rail in 2019 and got some ‘ok’ peddles thrown into the deal. I got 10% off some extras for a few months. Then Covid-19 hit and my so-called-preferred-customer status suddenly changed.
Then the waiting for upgrade parts began and I quickly learned which parts I needed to horde. Sometimes I think I was better equipped then the LBS’s. Then I bought 2 Powerfly’s at full price. Then my neibours bought 9 Rails and eMTB’s that year …at full price.
It doesn’t seem like anything has changed except the prices have risen and my customer status is…meh.

Don’t forget the part where the builds were changed to include different (often/always lesser) parts. Ie RapidDrive54 vs 108 and who knows what else.

I paid msrp but got 13% on accessories (must be a standard Trek thing - 13% in canada, 10 in the states?) after buying my 22 Rail 9.8xt

Here in NZ, couple of the larger chain stores are offering $500 NZD off the 9.8XT. 10% discount on the 2022 Rail 9, 7 and 5.
