Hi @Greg,

I’m about to get my Amflow PX (Size L) and I have a few compatibility questions regarding accessories.

1. Crank Protectors:
The Avinox SL cranks are quite slim. Do you think the Race Face Crank Boots (Small size) would be a good fit, or are the crank ends too specific for standard boots?

2. Garmin Mount: I want to use a K-Edge Gravity Cap (which replaces the stem top cap) to mount my Garmin Edge 530. Looking at the OLED display on the top tube, do you think there’s enough clearance so the Garmin won't block the view of the Avinox screen?

3. Fidlock Bottle (Size L frame): I’m planning to use a Fidlock TWIST magnetic system. On a Size L frame with the piggyback shock, do you think the 590ml bottle fits, or should I play it safe and go for the smaller 450ml version to avoid hitting the shock?

4. Mudguard: Just to confirm, is the new 2026/2027 Fox 36 mudguard (the one for the redesigned chassis) the correct one for the PX.

Thanks in advance!

@Seleuco Welcome to the Amflow club - you're going to love it. On the crank boots: the Race Face Small boots will go on, but it's a bit of a fiddle. The Avinox SL crank arms are narrower in profile than the Shimano/SRAM arms the boots are designed around, so you'll find they're not a super snug fit at the base and can rotate slightly if you don't trim them. I'd actually recommend the All Mountain Style crank boots instead - the silicone is more forgiving and stretches better around odd profiles. A few of the lads running PXs have gone that route with good results.

For the K-Edge Gravity Cap with a 530 - clearance is tight but it does work. The OLED display housing on the top tube sits fairly close to the stem, and depending on how far forward your 530 sits in the mount, the rear edge of the Garmin can come within a few millimetres of the display. It clears, but if you run a longer mount arm or angle the cap forward you can get contact on big compressions or hard bar turns at full lock. I'd suggest mocking it up before you torque everything down, and if it's marginal, a slightly shorter top cap mount or the standard out-front bar mount might give you more peace of mind.

One other thing worth flagging since you're kitting it out - the Fidlock 590 you mentioned in the thread title: it fits the L frame fine in the main triangle with the bottle base mounted to the standard bosses, but you'll want to check it doesn't foul the Avinox battery cover when you twist it off. Most people get away with it but the angle of approach matters. Post some pics once it's built up!
