Set in the heart of The Cheviot Hills this route showcases the best of what this area has to offer with some fantastic scenery ..and if big grassy hills are your thing with testing climbs ( all doable ) and big descents then I'm quite confident this will be one of the best rides you will tackle this year ..well worth getting up early for if you live a fair distance away ( the start time could be pushed back slightly depending on who wants to come but currently set for 10.30am) ..

No unfortunately I still can't make the 30th.
I am home but I'm away camping with family that weekend
Never mind, I should be able to get out more in the future as I have decided to go into semi retirement and quit working offshore

Start time changed to 10.00am ..just in case anyone was thinking of turning up out of the blue ..
Only myself , Jaco & Dave Tasker ( who is on leg power only ) ..but conditions are spot on ( hopefully finished before the forecasted rain in the afternoon ) .

The drop down to the Usway Burn on Clennel Street ( an old Drove Road) ..Jaco is the white dot ( bottom left ) Tasker following ..The Border Ridge ..England / Scotland ..on the skyline is where we are heading

This may not look too steep but believe me it is ..Jaco half way up Pass Peth ..the last major climb of the day before dropping down the other side to finish in Alwinton

There is a brand new Travel Lodge currently being built in Hexham ..due to open soon ..keep a lookout for a deal and come up for a couple of days riding in the summer ..its a 1hour drive from there to MTB heaven in the Cheviot Hills ..
