Hi there! I'm upgrading my Rail's brakes (and other things) and need to access the internal cables which are below the battery alignment rib...am I right to think that all I need to do to remove the rib is remove the 4 T25 security screws holding it (and then open up the clamps holding the cables down)? Or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks!

If I understand you correctly you are also replacing the rear brake line/hose,(which is what I did).
Do not cross/overlap the cables/hoses in the battery compartment. Keep it neat and tidy. I removed the upper battery alignment bracket but only loosened the lower alignment bracket security screws. Take extra care to NOT pinch the hydraulic line(ask me how I know) and make any bends through the motor compartment as smooth as possible.
The upper bracket needed to be removed because I couldn’t thread the line through the steering tube area to exit the frame. I removed the cable clamps (2) in the battery compartment. Taking a picture here might help.
It’s a bit of a process but the most difficult task was dropping the motor. Take pictures (unless you’re short on camera film)😉.
I upgraded to Magura mt7 on my Rail 9.7. I installed the supplied hoses with the magura upgrade (diameter could be larger, inside and out).

Thanks! I’m also upgrading to MT7’s…I didn’t realize I need to drop the motor too, I thought there was a channel for the hose to go through, but apparently not 😱

Any other tips before I get the tools out and start disassembling this thing? Hahaha

You’ll figure it out as you move along. I can’t think of anything else right now but someone may have some suggestions. Good luck 👍🏻. You’ll like the upgrade…and It’s worth it.
You may have questions on bleeding techniques also. The right tools and the magura website can help. It helped me.

Thank you! Im actually taking the MT7’s off my Slash and onto my Rail…I love these brakes, other than the pain in the ass it is to get the calipers properly aligned, almost a surgical job hahaha.

Thanks again!
