I have the 2022 with a Float X: Added a volume spacer and running around 210psi for a 75kg rider, still bottoming out here and there but I often huck to flat...
Really? I've Increased pressure to 210psi in my Float X and back on the stock 0.4inch3 volume spacer, also with 75kg. 25% SAG in High has improved pedal strikes a lot. All the last rides with small jumps and in really rough terrain, I had 1cm left on the shock. So enough safety for more. With 190psi and 0.2 inch3 spacer I always used all the travel.

To be clear, I don't mean that I harshly bottom out, but my sag elastic tends to be all the way down after each ride.

As you said, I arrived at that PSI value in order to stop pedal strikes, I'd happily ride with 200 or maybe 190psi, but can't handle the pedal strikes.

Dented the rear rim on 3rd ride, do you guys use tyre inserts?
No inserts and no real dents on my ex511 rims. I do get small dents on other rims I use here and there (e.g. my spank and mavic rims are dented to hell, but those have had years of abuse).

However, I run heavy tyres, usually Schwalbe super gravity (~1300g tyres), currently on Continental "enduro" level tyres. I personally do not find maxxis Double Down to be tough enough for my region, despite all the high praise the brand gets.

I run around 1.6bar in the rear, for 75kg.

Also dented the rear after a couple of spins. Tried an insert but was such hassle when I had to deal with tear in the tyre that I binned it, and now just run downhill Assegais which are seriously strong.

Update on this: my local bike shop told me my EX511 is very tired, it is just under 2 years old and has been treated horribly (bike park days here and there and big-ish jumps constantly). That said still no dents, just very hard to true straight.

~ 25-30 miles on typical mountain single track with 5-6K' of elevation gain, using level 3 to level 5 assist as needed. Not trying to extend range at all with average assist at level 4. I am 100 kgs riding weight.

5000-6000m elevation gain? Are You serious? With 2 times of fully charging I guess?

My max was 112km with 2100m of elevation gain with 24% battery remaining or 104km with 2200m of elevation gain and 21% battery remaining. Average Assist mode was between 100% and 150%, stock tires, E+1, me approximately 88kg(gear included).

I also keep statistics for my rides/battery and the 800Wh is as follows:

Average battery consumption is:

32,7Wh/100m elevation gained
with an
Average speed of: 17,6 km/h

Cheers

Hello guys, for a weight of 75 kilos do you know what spring to put on the reign. I'm wearing 425lbs and it feels hard, 24% sag. I have bought one of 400lbs.

Any updated reviews for the Giant Reign E+ 1 2023 bike from owners here? I've seen a very good deal new that's tempting me to sell my Specialized Kenevo Gen 1? 🤔
Giant Reign E+… 2022, 2023 & 2024 models are essentially the same bikes. Subtle exceptions are on components and battery that went from 625Wh to 800Wh, everything else pretty much unchanged (frame, geometry, motor…)
Great bike! 👍

Frame issues sorted now then? What about any motor issues as I heard Yamaha motors took a long time to swap if there were warranty issues?
LBS is a dedicated Giant shop, not the largest but significant in sales nevertheless... They were early adopters of e-bike tech (+/- 8 years) they claimed to have swapped one yamaha motor so far.
This is my second Giant e-mtb without issues. I'm not in the UK so water isn't as much an issue here.
