2022 Trek rail 9.7 vs 2021 Trek rail 2021

Hello,
This is my first post in this forum. I am about to pull the trigger on a 9.7 and wondering what difference is between the 2022 Trek rail 9.7 vs 2021 Trek rail 2021. For some reason the 2021 costs more than the 2022 which is odd. There are component differences, most notably front fork shocks and rear drivetrain. Anyways may question is given the choice ( color, price etc) which bike would you choose or not choose at all? Thanks folks. Great forum by the way.

Check Treks website, you can compare both models. I believe the ‘22 also has an aluminum rear triangle where the ‘21 is carbon.Double check, I could be wrong.

The Aqua Marine Rail is slightly faster than the Grey/Black Rail. It’s happened to me a couple of times.
Regardless; the Rail 9.7 is a great start. I suppose your weight, size and future upgrades are a factor too. Once you chew through the consumables you might start upgrading.
