Can anyone vouch as to how effective these gueards are? Any photos after a muddy ride?

As you can see (further up the thread) I use mine in conjunction with a mudhugger & yes it was very effective. I won't say doesn't stop all the mud collecting on the top of the rear of the swinging arm, but it does a bloody good jobs of preventing it.

Works well with the mudhugger. I put some Teflon tape on the brace. Not going to stop every thing but probably the best current solution with the stock 2020 tyre

Might gives some added protection but without the mudhugger the muck will go over the top of it

Stops a lot but some does get over the top on really claggy rides.i reckon without it the mudhugger would direct the mud right where you don't want it. Suggest you get one try it and add the mudhugger if you want.

It's been a while since I've posted because I couldn't get my PC to upload photos from my iPhone, then I found Dropbox.

We've re-designed the Turbo Guard to eliminate tire rub almost entirely. We added a silicone band and a zip tie
(I know, it's not supposed to have any) to hold the Guard away from the tire.

We've added a thin clear protector piece which peels and sticks to the lower chain-stay to protect the paint.

We found that bending the Guard to match the curve of the lower chain-stay helps when installing it.

We can't mail the Guard curved or shipping would be very expensive so this important step is left to you.

We have a company logo now and a decal is fixed on each Guard.

Jeff, thanks for noticing that! It always looked weird to me but I couldn't put my finger on it. I hope the 100+ folks who've received the drawing are as observant as you!

You could just draw a big bolt head on the right hand side, so it looks like a big cartoon bolt going in the correct way ?? Saves re-doing the whole drawing ?

Where did you get the guard that is velcroed to the seatstay that protects the area between Will's mudguard and the seatstay?

That's a Muckynutz front fender, extensively trimmed down and with 4 holes cut in it, using some of their velcro long loops.

I’ve taken everything off for cleaning and noticed this gouge alongside where the central coast guard sits. Annoying but I dont think even tape would have protected it. It must be the grinding paste of mud forced out to the sides.

Having said that, the outer edge is a straight vertical line. I wonder if the mud/wheel interface is wibbling the plastic guard about enough to wear into the metal.

You may be able to resolve some of the paint abrasion by heating the plastic guards and forming a curve to minimize contact points. It also creates a more rigid form with the curve.

Yet another thumbs up for Will's mudguard - came quickly to the UK.

A couple of pictures showing a slight fixing modification from standard using an extra 'O' ring which centralise the guard between the linkages and ensures that there is no rubbing. I took the shock off to check that it goes straight up on full travel movement. Slightly tricky to fit without a third hand but just possible.
