BTW, Shimano bikes doesn't report cadence also via ordinary Cadence ANT sensor protocol like Specialized bikes (which even have extremely useful ANT power sensor integrated)? All this is only because Shimano is greedy and don't use standard and open protocols. Instead they use only their own...

Are cadence and remaining range that useful info? I don't have them on my EDGE screen while riding my Turbo Levo and don't think I missing anything. Current battery percentage, distance and ascended meters on one screen give me enough info to know how much I will be able to ride with current...

Thanks guys for report. So if you deactivate Steps sensor within Garmin settings, it will work just fine, correct? But together with Step sensor activated, it or Ebike Field doesn't get the data...Yep, that make sense. Will think about the issue little more. I should be able to record cadence...

Graphs will work just fine if the data on screen will appear correctly.

Yep, I have already in progress that customisation of assist mode names, but thought to enable it only for ANT+ LEV bikes and not Shimano.. Seems like not good idea then. For now I am just curious if the implementation work properly for others, as I am testing it without bike which is kind of...

Hi guys, for those who can't use Mark's datafield due to its BLE nature, can you please checkout and test Ebike Field v3.0.0 with Shimano bikes which have ANT capability? It took ages, but finally I manage to implement the compatibility with these bikes. :) Hopefully it will work correctly...

@lamomie not yet. :( But I am not happy about it either. Hopefully I will get my hands on some compatible bike soon to figure out what is missing on my shimano connectivity code..

no, that is not possible. That is why Ebike Field apps handle all on their own.

Only for very few models and they do not log data to fit.

Due to current lockdown I have hard time getting my hands to some ebike with Shimano system with ANT+ . I hope once I will have the opportunity I will be able to add compatibility to my apps via ANT+ which will then work on all Garmins. So keep fingers crossed.

Yes, I am confident now that I will be able to connect to the bikes even from non-ble devices via ANT+, but have to first get my hands to some real bike with Shimano ANT+ to test it by myself, so can't promise now when this can happen. :unsure:

Thanks for useful info. I still don't see any reason, why my apps don't connect to the device. I will try to brainstorm some more about this in few days, but I will probably not crack this without testing of sensor myself. :confused:

Interesting! Did you tried to reset pairing on Ebike Diagnostics app if you had it previously paired with some other bike + can you please try it without sensor being paired to Garmin via system? I think it must use ordinary ANT+ LEV communication profile, and than my apps should be able to...
