Had a similar issue today on Turbo Levo - a branch blocked the derailleur. The result is a broken derailleur cage and bent UDH hunger. The hunger rotated for about 30 degrees and was stopped by a limiter on the frame. The frame is not damaged. That's how it is supposed to work!
I did that mistake. Rented old Rail in a bike park, tested it, found it good and bought a new 9.8xt. But the new Rail rides different.
You don't consider the old generation? I think that is really bang for buck.
I tried a 27.5 rear wheel on Rail and haven't noticed any improvement.
I think this cumbersome feeling is more about the weight distribution and the battery weight. Interestingly, the 750w Rail battery weighs 4.9kg, whereas the Levos 700w is just 3.8kg and it's located lower in the frame.
I...
The loose battery can be fixed, but motor clunking is characteristic of the motor. There is a video from Rob where he compares noise from different bikes.
Also if you had a chance to ride Levo, compared to the Levo, the Rail climbs better. On downhills, Levo feels lively and fun whereas the...
Hey Aratheba, the clunking sound you hear on the video is not the battery. It's the Bosch motor clunking.
Regarding the battery, the Rail gen 3 750w has an issue with the battery alignment plate. It's too long, so the battery will be loose if you align it as from the manual. But you still can...
The bolt from the derailleur hit the frame first before the UDH reach the limit. So the force is applied to the derailleur and chainstay, omitting the UDH that is supposed to get all damage.
Rail uses Shimano, and UDH is Sram's part, this is probably a kind of corporate war. SRAM's UDH destroy frames with Shimano derailleurs installed :ROFLMAO:
Seems like the guys fix rattling for Shimano by adding some rubber boot to a crank, wondering if we can do something similar?

I have:
broken rear derailleur, damaged rear triangle, the steel cable is torn off, and the twisted chain.
And an almost untouched hanger ( 25$ ) :ROFLMAO: Great work UDH
Yeah, they give me a 20% discount on the seatstay replacement.
Unfortunately, Trek refused to take responsibility for that problem. Their response:
" The UDH derailleur hanger has done exactly what it's designed to do - to rotate under excessive force in an attempt to save the derailleur. Unfortunately, the force put through the derailleur & hanger at the...
My turn with the carbon frame :(
I think that this is a design issue, as for all bikes I owned, the hanger snapped first to protect the derailleur and the frame. What amount of force should be applied to crack the thick derailleur neck?
I don't see possible issues with that other than scratching the battery. But the Trek engineers believe that this is important to keep it flat.
But this is for the 625w version, probably for the 750w they have another document which says that: "IMPORTANT: Make sure the alignment is bowed up...
The battery alignment plate for the 750w battery is too long, and the fitment can't be aligned correctly without bending the plate. This thing was introduced to fix the alignment issues but just made it worse.
