Not all Shimano batterys are affected some behave relative normal. Mainly BT-E8035 and some BT-E8010 are the one that make Problems.

I really Like the Shimano Steps system. Owned an e8000 an now Ep8 but next ebike will be from a other brand. Mainly because they handle problems the way they do it with the battery issue right now. Not very comsumer oriented.

Of course its Software related, shimano uses normal cells like every other brand. Were it cell related not every battery would degrade exact the same amount in the same cycles. So its out of question that its the Software that absolut shit. I wonder when the first batch with better software...

You got that wrong. If you want to avoid that Problem and still ride a Bike with Shimano Motor get a bike designed with a battery from a third party like the New Santa Cruz Heckler or Focus Jam they come with a Darfon battery. But if they are more reliable is another topic

Best to buy a Shimano bike with a third Party battery then. Then you won't have that Problem.

Think the Update for the EP8 caused It because in the Patchnotes it states this : ・Improved the display accuracy for the assist traveling range.

Shimano changed something with the last update. At least thats what i think, because the battery Life on my 2 BT-E8035 increased by 6%. 1. Battery - before Update 85% to 91% 2. Battery - before Update 87% to 93% And the strange drops after every 10 cycle are gone.
