    Bafang M500 and M600 motors

The older DP242 display used to give accurate % right down to 1% for the 52 volts, the newer DP245 doesn't for some reason. On my M510 it works out about a display of 40% is around the 46 volt shut off ( which is 3.2 volts a cell, the motor knows you started with a 52 volt battery ). On the...

    Bafang M510 Firmware thread

Thanks for the reply Dado. This high cutoff is stopping me using nearly 100Wh of a 800Wh battery. In 3 years the battery technology will have moved on so far that my 800Wh battery will be redundant. How many Ebikes batteries are going to be charged 1000 times a year ( typical cells are based on...

    Bafang M510 Firmware thread

I've had a bit of a realisation that the M510 controllers at 52 volts know that it is a 52 volt battery and will shut off the motor at 46 volts on the battery even without any CAN signals ( home built battery ). Thats 3.2 volts a cell. My old M600 motor used to run the battery fully down to...

    M510 motor no support

Sounds very Sounds very much like a connector problem, check the usual culprits of the display connectors not being pushed in far enough and down at the motor end, also make sure the connectors are pushed firmly into the correct place. Voltage levels changing could also be the battery to...

For every rider who hates the over run there are an equal number who ride technical trails that like it. I think your perception that " everyone" hates over run maybe a bit flawed. In my case I have learnt to use it to advantage and can now climb up over extended rough steep uphill short bursts...

    Bafang M500 and M600 motors

Thanks. Yes looked at his mods and from my engineering experience, its a good mod but. I've just pulled my M600 engine down and largely for the really harsh environment of the UK winters where I'm riding in wet, muddy, sandy, rock strewn conditions for possibly 6 months of the year, for the 3K...

Has anyone found a supplier of the 48mmx 54mmx3mm shaft seal thats on the drive side of the M600 ?

Not actually sure as I bought it in and stuck it on the shelf as a spare as I had eyesight problems with the older DPC242, I'll have a look in the next couple of days. I think Neeko had a vid of it but I can only find the short clip Quick Peak of the DZ41 display (CANBus) hooked up to the...

Mike, you maybe better looking over on Bafang M500/M600 thread where there are a couple of very knowledgable guys on there ( CiDi for one ) who have already logged the CAN signals. They may be able to save you considerable time. There are number of replacement screens, have a look at 20.55£ 45%...

    BESST tool PRO

OK, it was the Besst unit itself. A new unit has solved the reading problems of the motors.

    BESST tool PRO

OK further info. It would seem its the BESST tool itself. The version I have is BESST.UC 3.0.3 BSF33.05. Should this work ? I have tried to update the tool on line but neither BESST Pro or BESST will read the unit nor get into the Update section. Another clue is that the tool powers on ( red...

Guys, having a problem with using Beest. Its the first time I've used this Beest Tool and on this PC. It would seem that the Beest tool will not connect to the controller. I'm pretty sure that the controller is OK, its new ( I need to calibrate it ) and when connected to the Beest tool the...

Use Alibaba.com to contact Chilli Shen. She has been very good so far and fast delivery. If you use Alibaba you will get payment protection if she raises an invoice within Alibaba. DHL delivers within a few days of leaving China. Took about 3 weeks from order to arrive.

My M510 @ 52 volts and DPC245 display does not show the correct percentage. It shows 100% until the voltage gets down to 48volt battery levels. That’s not a bad thing as the motor will continue @ 100% power despite the battery being less than 35%.. The display shows around 40% when the battery...

How so, the pitch is exactly the same, the chain if setup correctly will not touch the nearby chain rings, where is the problem ? All chains are 1/2" pitch, all chains are 3/32" inner width, its just the overall pin length. I will take the extra 0.25mm of chain link thickness to try and stop any...

Tried all of the above and found going right back to 10spd lasts the best. If you go to 11spd you can use a 10spd chain ( ever so slightly thicker links ), doesn't change quite as slick when new but after a couple 100Km you cant tell the difference.

Are your sure of that, my M600 was happy with a full charge 58.8V ?

I beg to differ Dado, I used AI just as a term that people would understand. No electric motor control is not in the realms of AI ( yet ) but basic machine learning algorythms are employed in any electric motor worthy of mass production. Yes almost certainly Bafang will use an algorythm to work...

Guys, having just fitted a M510 with the Ver 3.0 display I have to say this is a very good package. I've run the M600 since 2020 and enjoyed it as a motor, but this is a step up again in being a very useable motor, particulalry in how the torque sensor seems to be much more of a priority rather...

I wonder what that is in regards to our battery packs ? Could it be the BMS balancing out each cell to the common lowest voltage, by burning off energy through a resistor creating heat,( after the charging cycle has switched off ) after all our chargers are not “bottom up” complex chargers.
