One problem with the Rise is that they're too pretty to take out of the garage - I got a roll of 3M tape and ran it along the top tube and down each side of the downtube before the bike gets any nasty scars. I used 50mm wide tape but 75mm would be better.
I like my 2022 H30, 21kg as pictured (minus the bottle) and has had the standard EP8 firmware installed from new. For a reasonably light trail bike there's not really a better deal than a heavily discounted Rise H30.
The only problem I've had was the unbranded rear hub failure - replace it...
I'll only buy a new Orbea if I can get it at a massive discount because their warranty service is crap. They know those hubs are faulty so they should supply replacement parts without question.
I ran a bit of protective tape along a few parts of my bike - along the top tube, down the sides of the downtube and around the headtube (for cable rub).
imho you could hold off on the rear wheel and shock and see how it rides with the other upgrades. The rear suspension already works well. Nice looking bike.
Sorry for my incorrect assumption. I managed to get a couple of those M1900's at the good price shipped to Australia with free shipping but they must have figured out the shipping was too expensive so the deal is no longer available here either.
I'd like to know too since I can't get a warranty replacement from Orbea, but since you're in the UK you could grab a 1/2 price DT M1900 from Wiggle instead of putting cash towards the cheesy Orbea wheel...
I'd say you got lucky and have the standard EP8 firmware on your motor - there have been a few similar reports of new bikes supplied that way. I requested mine to have the 85nm firmware loaded before delivery.
You can ask your dealer to put the 60nm firmware on if you prefer.
A lot of bikes have had the firmware changed to normal EP8 (85nm) by the dealer and authorised by Shimano without ruining the battery. I'd guess your battery was simply faulty and would have failed anyway.
It was crooze.com.au which is still trading, but the business has been sold to new owners and no longer supplies Orbea. I suggest you ask the shop you intend to purchase from about changing the software before purchase - if they don't want to do it try another shop.
I'm not too worried about my wheel replacement since I got the bike at a big discount, but I put in a claim to test Orbea Australia warranty - going very, very slowly so far.
I put a DT Swiss HX1501 on and I'm impressed by the star ratchet system - super easy to service and I can even whip the...
That would suit me as I managed to keep the shaft in fairly good shape. I put in a warranty claim several weeks back and haven't got a result yet - mainly claimed to test the quality of Orbea after sales service.
Like you I wouldn't mind having the original wheel as a spare as I've got a DT...
That's certainly full fat, around 5kg heavier than an alloy Rise. I guess most alloy full fat bikes are going to weigh around 25kg though, especially with larger battery sizes.
