I think the same guy does a much tougher one but it was thicker and looked(to me) like it reduced ground clearance. NB they may not be connected at all

Take this with a pinch of salt but I've just heard from a Merida rep that the new 160s will have will have an internal down tube battery. Very vague on other details but he seemed very sure of this
F2f Teflon spray I meant as it's a lubricant. Just a wee squirt around where the crank goes into the motor works for me. I think wd40 has a little too much degreaser
I sometimes get a "dry" rubbing sound on one side on the pedal downstroke. Wee squirt of silcone spray and it goes away.
Is there excessive play in the cranks? I believe a few e8000 motors have crank movement and a creaky noise and have been replaced on warranty

if it's standard practice then it stinks and is shocking customer service. When the windscreen wiper motor broke on my Subaru within warranty Subaru replaced it they didn't tell me it was nothing to do with them and to contact Bosch. I expected more of Merida. Madison appear to have a monopoly...
Yes a UK dealer, small shop but a great place. He's gone out of his way to help me on numerous occasions. Merida basically said nothing to do with them contact Madison.
I have a Merida e160 with over 5000km on it and its been fautless other than the charger packing up. My dealer was great but Merida basically didnt want to know telling me it was a Shimano part and covered by their warranty. On the one hand that means any Shimano dealer can assist you however...
I've managed over 8000km this year with just under 6000km on this bike and the bike has been faultless other than consumables ie couple of sets of tyres and pads and one broken spoke. I bought a second battery so the load has been split between two batteries but both are still good with no...
I bought this neoprene calf support from Amazon for £8.99 its just the right size to fit over the battery in situ and appears to improve the range at colder temps.
