    Show me your bike vans

There’s photos of my Caddy Maxi above in this thread from last year, with a size L Levo in the back. Fits OK on a bike rack with both wheels on and a couple of straps on the tie-down eyelets. Obvious less space than a Transporter but more car like to drive and easy to live with as a daily...

    Van internal bike transportation

Jumped in to contribute my £0.02 on internal bike transport and accidentally stumbled on an automotive pissing contest. I transport my Levo (size large) with both wheels on in a VW Caddy Maxi Life (that's the LWB MPV version), with 3rd row permanently removed, and 2nd row partially folded or...

    Show me your bike vans

I've posted pics of my VW Caddy before. It's a LWB MPV version (Maxi Life), so it's registered as passenger vehicle which makes speed limits, etc less hassle. I've had from new and have modified it from standard spec since, such as tints, lowering, splitter, alloys, remap, etc.

Vans, who's got a van just for adventuring?

Thanks - from 2004 - 2011, the mk3 Caddy was loosely based on the Touran, and many of the interior parts can be retrofitted. From 2011, it was no longer based on the Touran but shared many parts with the Golf mk5 & mk6. However like most VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat models, much of the VAG parts bin...

Vans, who's got a van just for adventuring?

Yep, Caddy Maxi Life (Maxi = LWB, Life = MPV version). Preferred this over a standard Caddy panel van and then retrofitting glass & seats. The Life already has them and also classed M1 not N1 on the V5 by DVLA so car speed limits apply too. Mine’s slightly non-standard, I’ve got 18” GTI alloys...

Vans, who's got a van just for adventuring?

Here you go, front wheel in one of these, and bike held by straps to the ringbolts in the floor. Caddy is also my daily drive, rear seats can be folded down or forward, or removed completely.

Vans, who's got a van just for adventuring?

I think if you're not sure, I'd advise getting it done professionally. I'm currently looking at a split charge in my Caddy, it's a Euro6 emissions spec with "smart" alternator so not a straightforward relay install, rather a DC-DC charger. There's always the risk of a fire if not done properly...

Vans, who's got a van just for adventuring?

I’ve got a LWB VW Caddy, good compromise between car and full size van.
