YT in my opinion is losing out a bit without the new EP8, but has possibly done the right thing by keeping the e8000 and getting continued accolades from a proven model, thus getting mail order ebike of the year. So, are they smart or just delayed by supply chain issues? Think it's a bit of...
Rocky47. If you have an ebike, then I would stay with what you have, if not, it can be tricky as noted by others. If it's not an ebike, then do your homework. It's seems to be a bit or work!
In general the 370 Hybrid is very beefy and sturdy which one would want on an ebike.
You all are right in so many ways. Yes, the e8000 is sorted, and working well, so Life is short, but I'll get by just fine on my Yeti and will be happy to ride my new 2021 Decoy for the next 3-4 years. Honestly, it does hurt to wait, but having the larger battery will be key with my Levo...
I'm waiting for the 2021. Sold my 2019 and got over my investment in the bike. Not happy that it's taking so long, but now I'm committed to just waiting for the 2021. I do believe a larger battery and ep8 will be the way to go, plus better bits of parts to boot. It's not ideal, and I'm not...
My prediction, refined yt battery 700wh, new ep8 motor, updated geo with adjustable mullet to 29 for rear with super enduro bike. Standard 29 layout mostly the same as a Trail Legend Bike, and weight to be slightly lower due to ep8 motor adjusted to new batter weight. Pricing just below...
Reminds me of the car industry. Audi did a minor body change to the Q5 from 2012 to 2013. The "owner blogs" were filled with people trying to retrofit the new LED lights front and rear. Heck, they were even trying to retrofit new bumper and more to cheat the system and say, hey it's as good...
No company is going to be keen on letting you upgrade your old 8000 to the ep8. The first question will be, when exactly would you even be able to get a hold of one of these? 1 year, 2? Then you do all the rewire, buy the motor and switch, then hopefully get a solid install. When you figure...
Oh, it will indeed have the Fox 38, and 2021 X2. Full Xt, 8000 steps motor.
I personally think it's worth waiting for the new model with a bigger battery, new motor, and maybe a lower weight And / Or some beefed up components. It's like buying the Porsche 911 all while they come up with...
Most likely the Decoy with use the Fox 38 and new X2 in the rear, and maybe, just maybe employ a 700 wh battery? I can also imagine it has the latest xt 12 speed, new Fox Transfer, and carbon wheels. $6400 USD price tag? But yes, agree they are clearing out all the old stuff waiting for the...
You are correct. Same conclusion I got with DT. Glad I can return the few parts I bought when I thought this was possible. Guess we are always looking to upgrade our toys! This one is a no go!
The Update. The Hybrid 3 pawl system has 24 points of engagement, and DT Swiss recommends 24 T Star Ratchet on their Ebike with beefier metal as not to grind it out too soon with the torque. Bottom line, think I'll stick with the 3 pawl system for now. Oh well, good intention, but no benefit...
Good points to all. I do have an old 18t dt swiss ratchet I can begin with, they are also very inexpensive. It from my Yeti. If I use this first, try it out, then my effective cost will go all the way down to $177.00 USD. Think it's plenty worth the try, and not much of a cost. If it blows...
The biggest issue will be the removal of the 3 pawl, but this is where the shop comes in. When you remove it, you can see it's very straight forward, and in the end, hopefully you have a 240 hub and now your styling! I'll document with photos once I get the parts. Finally, you are correct...
Hey all-
Was thinking it would be great to a better set of wheels on my 2019 Base Decoy. Have to say, it gets expensive to buy carbon (not sure of durability), and a new set of aluminum builds will run in the $750 range by the time you get it all together. While searching Youtube I found that...
Wonder if Decoy owners could just organize a "class action lawsuit" for falsly advertising the 700wh battery promise? Maybe this would get someones attention?
If they go with a Fox 38 for 2021 plus 630wh battery then the weight will def go up. Just added a Zeb to my 2019 Decoy and thik it going to be really awesome.. I thought I might just sell it, then realized it's an endless game of upgrading and costing yourself a few grand everytime you do the...
Shimano new battery is 630wh, and Decoy is 540, so waiting for the 700wh batter (if they ever ever come up with it) would be worth it, but honestly, a fully charged 540 gets you one heck of a ride!
