I replaced the stock Shimano 11 speed with SRAM 12 speed Eagle and haven't had any problems. If your rear wheel currently has a SRAM cassette carrier then the conversion is a snap. If it's Shimano, you'll need to investigate replacing the carrier. AXS is great.
try 654321
When the shimano "e-tube" app updated, it reset my password from 000000.
I read someone else had the same problem, used 654321 with success. And it worked for me as well.
I converted to Eagle and couldn't be happier.
Mine came with 11 spd Shimano, which I didn't like, mostly due to the "thick feeling" lever action.
I had an extra Eagle x01 drivetrain, taken off a different bike, that I installed and it works great.
I do sometimes use 50t on very steep terrain...
For unclear reasons, Michelin is only selling 27.5 e-wild in the US. You'd have to check non-US vendors for the 29 version.
QBP (largest wholesaler of bike parts in US) shows Eddy Currents in all sizes delivering late October-late November, so any bike shop "should "be able to get it for you then
Yes. I converted to SRAM
1. You'll need a SRAM XD driver for the cassette
2. If it's a "shadow" Shimano RD, then you'll need a new RD hanger from YT
3. There is no need to replace the cranks or chainring
4. If chain is new, 12 spd shimano should work with 12 spd SRAM. If chain is worn or 11 spd...
I only ride low. Always. Plenty of rocks here in the Colorado Rockies don't pose a problem. Pedal strikes are a matter of timing.
Mullet Decoy, fork at 170, rear tire 2.6. I wouldn't want it any other way.
"My thoughts are 2.6 on rear would be more agile, not worried about rolling resistance or which is better climbing tire since I have my Levo for rides of this nature and am spec'ing Decoy more for gravity/dh rides. "
Yes, that sums it up nicely. You have a good handle on the situation.
The 2.6...
Interesting article, but I can't relate to the author's experience because of the pressures he uses and the flimsy tires and uber-tube he choose to use with Tannus armor.. I wouldn't dream of running 14 psi. Heck, I destroyed my YT OEM DT rim running 22 psi cushcore E-wild tires, which have a...
Colorado front range. Lots of low lying rocks. Different strokes for different folks.... I've long ridden low BB bikes and have just learned to adjust. The handling and stability going downhill makes it worth it for me.
I just replaced an e-wild with cushcore with a 2.6 AGC hellkat with Tannus.
Honestly, I like the Tannus armor. It's far easier to install than cushcore and if (big if) the tube pops, I can easily patch it or replace it. Having to deal with Cushcore trailside repairs is nightmarish. I've been a...
No need to drop the motor. The battery needs to be removed. Pay close attention to how he existing brake line is routed through the hose guides and you'll be fine.
Nope. I didn't miss your point at all. I was being tongue-in-cheek. But, yes, upping max assist means drawing more battery, and so range is diminished.
Again, if you want more speed, look into the app.
I agree with the "vague" impression.
I went to 2.6. Then I destroyed the stock i35 rim.
Now i have a i30 rim and am running a Kenda ACG Hellkat 2.6 and am digging it.
On the flip side, the battery lasts longer when 18.5 is the max :)
I believe the ST Unlocker app will increase that max speed, if you're so inclined. Personally, I'll take range over speed.
