    Decoy go BOOM....

To conclude this, bike is on its way back to me If anyone is on the fence about choosing a YT based on lack of local service, then I can say dealing with the YT Mill has been excellent with both customer service and the mechanics contacting me at regular intervals as updates became available...

    Decoy go BOOM....

Update - YT have now offered me 700 quid off the new battery and motor as a gesture. Have to admit I'm impressed by the UK service centre.

    Decoy go BOOM....

I bit the bullet and authorised the repairs as I still love the Decoy - expecting it back in 3-4 weeks. Also went and bought an Orbea Rise M10 as wanted something a bit different to go with the Decoy. Its been an expensive weekend but you can't take it with you........

    Decoy go BOOM....

Guys Thanks for all your input. The 2.5K cost is a bit steep. The motor and battery is 1700 and the rest is a full service inc F&R shocks, all bearings replaced, new headstock and full XT drivetrain replacement. So it should be good as new as all needed replacing as its had 2 summers in the...

    Decoy go BOOM....

Update - YT have confirmed the motor and battery will have a new 2 year warranty if replaced but havent confirmed if this is transferable. They have also confirmed that the motor is being replaced due to an error E01020 code which means 'replace the motor' The replacement, plus some other...

    Decoy go BOOM....

Apologies for the click bait title, but my 2019 Decoy Pro has packed in, 'E010' and no support. Powering off and on just causes the Steps logo to flash on and off, it never gets as far as the normal display. The battery itself has its LEDs flashing 3 on then 2 on repeatedly when off the bike...

    UK Yt Decoy Support

I've had my Decoy for over 12 months and not had an issue but my brothers has just started playing up with a permanent E10 error and it looks like he is facing sending it away for repair. Have to say that on inspecting it, the Decoy is way better sealed than my old Levo. Previously my Levo went...

YT Decoy owner survey - motor / battery issues requiring returns to YT

Had my decoy about a year now and only issue has been the odd error message on startup, until it failed to go from the startup screen to the normal screen. A quick google shows this is a common problem when water gets on the battery/frame connection. Battery out, clean with iso and application...

    Tyre choice

Overall impressed with the rimpacts - only issue I had was with one valve which wouldnt seal to the rim properly and which led me to find out that trailside repairs with a rimpact insert are not something you want to have to carry out often.

    Charging while traveling

    1. Yes 2. Yes but you'll need an inverter and possibly an additional leisure battery. The standard lighter socket won't supply enough current and will blow its fuse. I use a 1000w inverter in my van, directly wired to the second battery used for stop/start and only charge whilst driving. 3. Yes...

On the Fence - decoy or turbo levo

I've got both - a 2018 Levo Comp Carbon and a 2019 Decoy Pro. Main comparisons: 1. Done similar miles on both (approx 1000 miles) - the Decoy has thrown up the odd error message ( merely needing a power cycle to resolve) but apart from that has been fault free - the Levo is on its second engine...

Sizing question - before I pull the trigger

Demo'd a medium and small, and even though sizing chart puts me (@5.6) firmly on a medium, I bought a small. Both sizes would have been ok but the small is so much more chuckable. Stability isn't an issue as the weight provides that.

    Which model?

I demo'd the race twice and my brother bought one. I went for the Pro. Can't tell any difference between them in practice, Inc the carbon wheels, and preferred the colour of the Pro. Don't sweat the E13 wheels etc, had em for 2 years on a Capra with zero issues

    YT Decoy thread part 2

The date on the website is the date that model/size will be available for your location if you order it now; add 2-3 days for build, and then shipping, which is 5-10 days to the UK. So, by your example, if it says 16th October it would likely be delivered to a UK buyer about 24th-29th October...

Decoy VS Levo Geometry Differences. The fallacy of Trail Bike VS DH

OK to put it into perspective my mate's have a couple of Haibike enduros with 180 travel and they are like monster trucks compared to the Levo: plough thru everything but are the polar opposites when it comes to agility. I'm guessing the Kenevo is along these lines (I would expect Spesh want to...

Decoy VS Levo Geometry Differences. The fallacy of Trail Bike VS DH

After my first run out on my decoy, coming from 2 years on a Levo, I'd echo this. The Decoy rides just like a long travel Levo, nimble but with a bottomless feel. My 2018 Levo only has 135 on the back and that is the most noticable difference in the ride between the 2. Negatives to the Decoy...

Just ordered my Decoy...3 weeks from delivery (so they say)

Just took mine out on its maiden voyage around CYB Beast trail. The Decoy is an animal, soaked it all up and saved me a couple of times where I was skill challenged including an enormous two wheel drift down the rocky helter skelter hairpins on one of the Adams family sections. 28 mile in total...

    Bike size

Tim - your identical to my measurements and I ordered a small on the basis that the 2 main measurements (reach and wheelbase) were both slightly longer than my current small 2018 Levo which I can chuck around at will and which is stable enough for me in the rough. I noted that YT said I was just...
