I (once) replaced the headset bearings, torqued up everything, then checked with the wheel at right angles that there was zero movement. But when I rode the bike, I STILL had fork knock. It still felt OK when rocking the bike with the wheel at right angles, so I turned the bike upside down and...
It is dead easy to take a look, almost no dismantling required!
Loosen the clamp bolts on the stem until they move freely. Undo the top cap bolt. If there are any spacers above the stem lift them off and set them to one side. Lift the bar and stem assembly off the fork steerer and let it...
Try Halfords! The blue paint on my Focus Jam2 was an EXACT match for Peugot's Aegean Blue Metallic. Focus may have used a paint from another car company. When I started looking, I started with German cars as Focus are German, then just worked my way down the blue colour range. You may have...
You didn't give a year in your original post, which is why I gave dates on my reply. As far as I can tell, Focus do not give bearing sizes on their exploded views, just the apart numbers of bearing kits. Here is the one for the 2019 bike (mine). You can compare.
No matter how neglected the bike has been, how does he not have the charger? Are you sure that your mate came upon the bike honestly? The last thing you want is to spend money on the bike and then have someone identify it as theirs and demand it back!
Here we go:
This was generated in Dec'20 for my Focus Jam2 2019, with the 140mm rear travel. I got the bearings from TrailVision, who I highly recommend. Very helpful website, fast delivery and competitive prices when I looked in Dec'20 and since.

The only note I have is that it connected the display to the battery. The connection was unmade/made when the cable was stretched or not. I no longer have the bike, since Aug'21.
I had an intermittent fault like that on my Jam2. It was traced to a cable that had been trapped and slightly squashed when the battery was replaced. In my case the "intermittent" was traced to a specific movement of the bars that stretched the cable in question. Relatively cheap to fix...
Any of those tyres look good. There is an excellent review of 28 different MTB tyres (see link), but the best rear tyre is the WTB Trail Boss. It comes in Light and Heavy versions; both are triple compound...

How cold is it in your garage? Therre was a problem with some chargers not charging the battery when either (or was it both?) were below 10degC and the level of charge was low.
Warm chargers and or battery worked. So, bring both into the house for a test. Let them warm up.
It might be nothing to do with the TEC pack or that fact that you switched batteries. Check the basics, like the connections that you can see. A simple one to check is the connectors at the back of the display. I had one of those get dislodged by a twig when I leaned against a tree. The...
Yes I did, beautiful bike and I was sorry to see it go.
But I never had that sort of problem, not exactly.
The closest I could get to it that might explain the problem for the OP depends upon where and when he was charging his TEC pack.
It was Feb'19, 6-7 weeks after getting my new bike. The...
