I don’t know why it’s so heavy, I guess they’ve beefed everything up - frame, forks, wheels/tyres etc plus the heavier battery. It’s a shame as it is a lovely looking bike. Sounds like it rides well though?

I’ve just sold my 2018 Jam2 with a view to ordering a Levo, mainly to to battery life. I’ve been delaying making the final decision on the Levo and really do like everything about the new Jam2 but that weight? - almost 25kg - I think it’s just too heavy.

Not sure how long your return commute is, but as an example I took my focus with same Shimano Motor and battery out last week as I had a mechanical on the road bike. It was a 30 mile loop slightly undulating And the battery was on the red when I got home. Eco all the way.

My Jam2 is also 18 Months old and gets used on average once a week typically using up all the battery and then recharged. I haven’t noticed any significant reduction in battery life so far. If you’re down by 50% then I would agree it’s likely down to external factors, eg terrain, tyres, weight etc

I haven’t tried lots of different tyres but swapping Recons for Minions (front &rear) was a great move - very noticeable improvement in grip.

You’ll love the Quantocks - I think it’s my favourite, though Other places are more spectacular/technical. The Long Mynd is on our to do list as well.

Thanks. I went for the Rapid Racer proguard xl front and the proguard rear. Mistake - not enough clearance with 2.8 plus tyres. Ok on tarmac but hopeless in the mud. Have already taken them off and kind of resigned myself to another winter of getting filthy ?

Same, mine’s been thrashed for a year and no problems whatsoever with the frame (or the motor).

My Focus Jam was an ex-display and the cover was missing. Keep meaning to order a cover but it’s had a year of hard use and loads of washes and it hasn’t been a problem.
