Motor noise, power cut-off and warranty void

I agree, take it back to where you bought it and start the process again and hopefully a new report will not show any unauthorised software. My Merida was almost 4 year old and well out of warranty when my e8000 motor failed , I took it back to where I bought it and they sent the motor back to...

I had the Shimano e8000 motor let go when it was 3 and a half years old with E010 error with 1600 miles on I took it back to the local bike shop where I'd bought it from and Shimano requested the motor back for inspection They replaced it with a new one free of charge even although it was 18...

    Suing Shimano?

Shimano replaced my E8000 motor free of charge on my 3 and a half year old Merida e160 even although it was 18 months out of warranty. I took it back the the dealer where I bought the bike and he contacted Shimano, I think the fact that I hadn't derestricted it helped my case.

    Shimano e8000

After my experience I think it would be worth trying the place you bought it from first They may offer to replace the motor at a discounted price if you purchased it new from them

    Shimano e8000

Haha no, I just took it back to where bought it expecting a large bill but Shimano requested the motor back to investigate the problem The mechanic said usually when they ask for the motor back they replace it Its not a warranty job as such as its out of warranty and I need to pay the labour
