E8000 "bottom bracket" bearing play after 1400km

I emailed Shimano, and he responded basically saying after watching the video, the lateral move is still within the spec, it is safe to ride. I'll just keep riding it.

E8000 "bottom bracket" bearing play after 1400km

Thanks Gary. so far no angular play, just that in / out movement, like 1-2mm which Shimano said it is normal. I tried it with my both hands pressing the chainring, also move around up/down.

E8000 "bottom bracket" bearing play after 1400km

My E7000 has also developed a lateral move a bit after 1900 miles in 7 months. I don't recall having this movement before. I called Shimano USA, and was told it is normal after awhile with 1-2 mm movement. I don't feel it while riding, no unusual noise either, all seems normal. I am afraid the...

ST Ride App - Tracker/dash/logger for STEPS motors

Also what kind of HRM to use with this app? I am assuming not the one for Garmin.

    is the E7000 to weak?

Any error code ? if not, before going to dealer, I would take off all cable connections from handlebar, clean it all, also lower the motor, open the casing, do some cleaning there too, unplug the cable and clean. there could be some debris stuck between motor and mounting or that area, or some...

    is the E7000 to weak?

So far my E7000 has been great, I climbed on trail mode for 45 min non stop, the power delivery seems to be consistent, it was on a road, and I passed all the roadies. never tried it on technical trail climb over 30 min. Basically I try to spin more than mashing, putting easier torque on the...

Low cadence, low motor noise, low battery consumption?

sure we have the option to turn off the motor whenever we like. Gary, the graph on you profile picture, do you use it when riding? what's the RPM like before the graph spike up vertically? I don't have that feature in my E7000 display, but I can listen to the motor noise as a reference. I am...

Low cadence, low motor noise, low battery consumption?

I see...doesn't effects range that much...got it.. Thanks Gary. I mainly use eco anyway, and steady speed.

Low cadence, low motor noise, low battery consumption?

yes got it, that's obvious. but what is the sweet cadence rpm wise? I try to use my leg power more. I lowered the eco mode to medium, maybe I'll try low eco next time.

Low cadence, low motor noise, low battery consumption?

Hello riders, new to emtb here, riding with Shimano E7000 motor. unfortunately the E7000 display does not have the chart display like E8000. I notice on the same climb, same speed, different gear: high gear, low cadence (like under 60 rpm), motor noise is very low, almost quiet. does it mean...

Shimano's pitiful rate of innovation and updates...

I think US version is set at 20mph, not 25 mph.

Shimano motor - cranks arms, basically both arms the same as left crank arms?

Yes you're right, need 2 left pedals which I happen to have in my parts bin.

Shimano motor - cranks arms, basically both arms the same as left crank arms?

Thanks mates, I am in sunny Southern California, bike24 does not ship shimano parts to US. bummer. that XT steps crank arms look like regular non ebike XT left crank arm, but not sure non ebike crank will fit the steps motor, that's my real questions. if so, meaning I can grab any shimano left...

Shimano motor - cranks arms, basically both arms the same as left crank arms?

My bike came with 175mm arms, seems too long and the pedals are very low to the ground, compared to my regular bike with sram X1 170mm arms. about 10-20mm lower. I was looking for shimano steps crank arm for 165mm, but nobody has in stock. however on ebay, I can get 165mm Zee left crank arms...

Cannot connect the cables to the port of the display

Thanks mate, finally connected. I forced it a bit more, I was afraid to damage it. Now all good.

Cannot connect the cables to the port of the display

I am having a hard time connecting the cables from switch unit to the display, also cable from battery to the display, even with the supplied tool. Should I force it using the shimano supplied tool? I just recieved the bike today, it came with the cables disconnected.
