Went through water today, wet f**king feet again, p*issed off :(

Thankfully I can ride with or without them and my five tens still seem to fit fine.

    Waterproof socks are the answer.

What pump do you take out with you?

Like some others, I just bring a CO2 inflator as I am generally not far from the car. If I was on an epic somewhere I would bring a small pump and a tube as well.

I know there's a lot of rubbish in the sales, but my pal grabbed a Dissent frame for about £550 which is a proper bargain.

    Bike cleaner recommendations

I just use a brush and water. Not washing my bike is just not an option in Scottish Winter (or summer). Once inside I wipe down with a cloth and lube the things that need lubed.

    Best glasses for winter/dark times?

I have sun gods with completely clear lenses. Can you not just get clear lenses for your current glasses?

Are you faster on a normal bike?

I am as fast on most stuff with my Whyte E160 as I am with my Privateer. I think it's more to do with fit than anything else though.

Best option? So much criteria, so little money!

Serious question. Is standover height particularly relevant on a mountain bike? Dropper size and insertion would seem to have superseded that. Genuinely interested as it's not something I would ever look at.

Show me your Meat and E quiver .

Love mine too. It's also been faultlessly reliable. 4000km on original bearings. My Nomad 4 went through a set every 6 months! If your local trails are steep, I would definitely try a small back wheel. I've had mine that way for more than a year. It's been superb.
