thats where the SL comes in, with fit frens, on trail mode, its a great workout and you would be tired out. i ride with national level riders, the type of ppl who come in podiums in races all the time, and a SL is perfect to chase them.
my first 2 ebikes were full fat Levos. then i moved to a SL, and i will never buy a FF ebike again. Dont need the weight, dont need the big battery, dont need all that power. Have booked a EXe 9.8 XT to replace my SL.
My group is the same...all went from FF levos to lightweight ebikes and now...
My LBS already has 5 orders since launch(compared to 6 rails sold this whole year), lightweight Emtbs are very popular depending on the terrain. not everyone does 6 hour rides and needs 700wh batteries
My entire group were ebike pioneers back in 2017/18...first full group in my country to have Levos. fast forward a few years, and we are all on SL ...and most have booked the Fuel Exe.
riders who want lightweight ebikes are diffrent from ppl who ride FF ebikes. We want as close to manual...
exactly my thoughts...having owned both a 18 and 19 levo....im worried about being a early adopter for the SL.
Gen 1 levo was heavy as a pig, Gen 2 was much better...Gen 3 (2019-2020) is lightyears ahead, in terms of geo, battery, motor
i have a SB140, and a Levo Expert. On dh trails that have NO pedally sections at all, im significantly faster with my manual as recorded by strava. For the first few runs, after that fatigue sets in, and my ebike gets better timing.
Even though my manual/ebike have almost identical components...
I wear Leatt impact shorts underneath as well, i find no issues with leatt pants, they go pass the knees for me, both the 3.0 and 4.0 are great.
the secret to MTB gear is to buy previous season. i just ordered two Yeti long sleeve jerseys at 70% off....doesnt matter to me one bit its previous...
We normally ride ungroomed rooty/rocky trails full of erosion holes, cos it basically rains everyday. Trails are very narrow as trees/bushes grow extremely fast in the tropics.
This is a park in the capital of Malaysia. Trail dynamics are slightly different to uk/us..hikers tend to give way to...
the Super DH is Bells latest helmet with full DH certification and MIPS version 2. I have two 2Rs, and got the DH recently, get the DH, its slightly heavier..but the improvements make up for it.
I have a Bell 2R and Super DH, used to take off the chinbar when i ride manuals...but ever since i got my ebike, the increase speed/airflow means i dont bother anymore, i wear the full FF.
i seen too many accidents on supposedly "safe" and "easy" trails....3 of the worse accidents i have seen...
I have a 2018 levo and a Yeti Sb5c, will never ride my local trails with my manual over the ebike ever again. In my country, there are no uplifts, no shuttles...its all grueling climbs to the top....in the 3 months since i got my Levo, i have ridden more km than the whole of 2017 on my manual (i...
I got invites to a Levo launch event for my entire group of regular ride buddies...got them all hooked..and we negoed a bulk buy deal with the local spez dealer...20% off rrp + free upgrade to ohlins TTX + free tubless etc...win win...
Switch to ebike ride.
Strangely my PR on my no.1 fav trail...is the exact same timing on my manual and my ebike...but 3 years apart.
I have been trying for 3 years to break my PR on that trail...never getting close (i was fittest in my life at that time)...took me a month on my new Levo to...
