So, I've had my Decoy for 5 years now, time flies eh! Done loads of mods, coil fork and shock, Hope brakes, One-Up bars etc etc.
The main reason I'm toying with a change is the (non) availability and price (€1000!!!) of a 720wh battery, also the entire bike is now coming into its 6th season and...
If it was the bike I really wanted, then I'd go for it, never crossed my mind when I bought my Decoy, got Stunlocker for the US speed limiter and it's nice, but wouldn't sway me if I bought a Bosch bike.
That said, I live in the bottom of a valley so most of my riding is 10-15kmh uphill :D
Sram 220mm rear disc for my Decoy, I know maybe 220 is perhaps overkill for the rear (already have 220 on front) but needed a new disc anyway and run Hope V4 brakes, which while bombproof, aren't the most powerful out there, first ride this morning and really happy!
Fitted a Cushcore to the rear today, nothing like the ball ache a lot of people say, but trickier than a normal tyre swap for sure, the secret is to really use the rim well to give everything a chance to fit.....
The reason for fitting one was we're pretty rocky round here, so I've been using DH...
Pretty much wear my Proframe only in the park, don't uplift tho (€€€) so clip it to my backpack on the way up.
There are a couple of faster rides I do round here where I'll wear it too.......
I've got around 1500km on my Eddy Current rear, much more worn than yours but mostly hard rocky trails here.... It's worn totally even though, centre and side knobs same both sides.
The tyre isn't directional so you could flip it and get another 1200km from it no problem :)
Totally agree, my Decoy (not a Rise, I know!) was transformed firstly with a coil shock (Marzocchi Bomber) and again with a Vorsprung Smashpot coil fork conversion, so much more supple everywhere, using all the travel and still plenty of support (y)
