I'm still doing it. Had 3 chains in rotation and got 5500 out of the drive train.
On the new drive train it's a bit more complex. Had three chains in rotation but had "a bit of a mishap" and bent a chain and the largest sprocket when the rear mech went through the back wheel. Now rotating two...
Regularly. This country is too big and wild to rely on taking a chance - which is a good way to drop off a cliff (or take a shortcut across a fighting bull farm...)
Sorry! I hadn't realised. As you say, this is a touring commuter. You have got the correct software (and it is limited to 75Nm torque) for your model of bike - the dealer did do his job properly.
I'm not sure whether the Bosch dealer software will allow you to change to the mountain bike...
It's a Marmite thing. My missus prefers Tour because she wants the extra assistance without having to work for it. I prefer Tour+ because I like the range. So our bikes are set up differently.
The same CX motor gets used in a whole host of different bikes which have different "tunes". It's quite likely that your motor was originally part of a shipment destined for a commuter bike. Cube probably just used whatever was to hand to build the bike. It's only a few minutes at any Bosch...
Now that's really interesting. Our perceptions are very different. Subjectivity is always, well, subjective, I guess.
Certainly as @Silverfox Baz has "Sport" mode on the display, he will not have Tour+ mode, which is only available with the EMTB option.
On flat ground, pedal gently in Eco and then switch to Tour without increasing your pedal pressure. If you feel no difference, then you have Tour+. If you have Tour, then you will feel the extra "kick" because there is a marked difference between Eco and Tour.
Pedalling along gently, I can...
I regularly ride my 50lb ebike at speeds well over 15.5mph. It's not derestricted, I just pedal hard!
Don't go throwing that kind of question around, or the next thing you know is that ebikes will have speed limits set, rather than just "motor support" limits. Too many idiots out there...
The reason you need to replace the CO2 with "normal air" is that tyres are permiable for CO2. It's a bit like having a very slow puncture.
(I regularly use CO2 canisters to seat my tyres when my air can doesn't give enough oomph).
Damn! You were too fast there @Zimmerframe ! I thought I'd been quick enough to delete that post. I realised about 60 seconds after posting it that my argument was flawed because the 5 beers I'd sunk had killed off a few brain cells - the ones dealing with conservation of momentum. Your argument...
Not only are you teaching granny to suck eggs (I spent my working life doing those sums... impact is an immensely complex subject, don't get me started...) but 250lb is still below the weight limit of EMTB's and the attainment dream of many a Clydesdale :ROFLMAO:
So let's get this straight...
150lb is hardly a whippet in road biking terms. And I think that 200lb is considered a lightweight in this forum...You have only to look at the complaints about the maximum weight limits on bikes being around 120kg - and then tie these up with the same writers wanting to derestrict...
Mine does that when the cable is not tight enough.
There should be a barrel adjuster by the trigger. Try winding it out to tighten the cable.
(If you go too far then the seat post will not lock when you release the trigger).
Ramps, as in the bit that suddenly goes from 10% to 30% for 50m or so. What do you call those bits? (I think it's a roadie term).
EMTB is better for those because I find that I'm pushing at my maximum Watts to get turbo support in Tour+. I'm pushing nowhere near as hard for full turbo support...
